The entire world of gaming will be looking at the release of GTA 6. An analyst believes that this action game could therefore be a blessing for Xbox.

- The online magazine Windows Central spoke with gaming analyst Rhys Elliott about the current console generation, namely the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S.
- Elliott explains that the PlayStation 5 has “won” the current console generation and that Xbox is becoming more of a software provider rather than a hardware brand.
- According to Elliott, the release of GTA 6 is an opportunity for Xbox to market the Series S.
The cheapest console to play GTA 6
Why could GTA 6 be a hit on the Xbox Series S? At the release of GTA 6, the action game from Rockstar Games will initially be released only for consoles – the PC launch is scheduled for a later date.
Elliott explains that the temporary console exclusivity could pay off for Xbox: “Xbox could use the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 as a last hurrah for the Series X|S generation, thanks to the low price of the Series S.”
While the Xbox Series S is already available for €299.99, the Series X (from €499.99) and PlayStation 5 (from €399.99) are slightly more expensive.
So for anyone who does not yet own a console on which GTA 6 will run, the Series S is the cheapest platform. According to Elliott, it could therefore be beneficial for Xbox to market the Series S vigorously in connection with the GTA release.
When is GTA 6 coming? Currently, there is no official release date for GTA 6. We only know that the highly anticipated action game from Rockstar Games is set to be released in the fall of 2025 – although many industry experts expect a delay.
