The revised MMORPG Blade & Soul: NEO was released on February 25, 2025, and has already received its first expansion. This brings many new contents to the game.
What kind of expansion is this? The Moonwater Plains update is essentially an expansion divided into three parts. As the roadmap on the game’s website reveals (bladeandsoul.com), one part of the expansion will be released each in March, April, and May as an update.
The March package is not small, despite its proximity to the release. Players will immediately receive an increase of the maximum level to level 50. Additionally, the main story of the MMORPG will continue, and a new region will be unlocked.
Content-wise, players can expect a new dungeon called “Blackram Supply Chain” along with fresh rewards. In Mushin’s Tower, you can fight through seven different floors to the top as per the tower game mode and face Boss Junghado. In addition, there are three new world bosses that you can defeat.
What’s new for PvP players? For PvP players, there is a new 6vs.6 battlefield called Beluga Lagoon, where you can win in three different ways. Either you place the horns on all three allied stone statues, or your team reaches 1,800 points first, or you are in the lead when the time runs out after 15 minutes.
Furthermore, there is a new PvP area called Skyhaven Bastion where prestige points can be earned. In addition to the content, there are also new outfits that you can unlock through various activities.

More than just looks
What do I need to know about Blade & Soul: NEO? The MMORPG is the modernized version of Blade & Soul from NCSoft, which originally released in Europe in 2016. Blade & Soul: NEO impresses with its Wuxia setting and an excellent martial arts combat system, which also earned the game a spot among the best MMORPGs in terms of combat systems.
The game in its remastered version offers far more than just visual improvements. In addition to enhanced textures, lighting, and animations, the developers return to the roots of their combat system, offering skill combos, counters, and flexible group roles.
The character creation has also been improved, now offering more options. Additionally, the MMORPG has been enhanced content-wise, for example, players can now fly infinitely through the air to get from point A to B faster.
Although Blade & Soul: NEO has one of the best combat systems in the entire genre, it lacks a crucial feature to fully enjoy it. This bothers players and spoils the start of the remaster edition for some: MMORPG with one of the best combat systems in the genre gets prettier, but one thing annoys the fans
