Ella Purnell played the lead role of Lucy MacLean in the series for Fallout. At the same time, she voiced Jinx in the Netflix series Arcane. However, a physical trait that connects her two characters becomes her greatest fear.
What connects Jinx and Lucy? Although the two figures come from a video game, there is another small similarity between them. Both Jinx and Lucy have a finger amputated during their lives. For Lucy, it’s the index finger, while for Jinx, it’s the middle finger.
- Lucy has her finger cut off by the ghoul. He does it as compensation for her biting off his finger. Later, she has a new, dead finger sewn on.
- Jinx loses her finger in a fight with Vi. The sharpshooter Caitlyn aims from a distance at Jinx but only hits her finger.
However, this similarity seems to worry Ella Purnell. She is afraid that this physical trait will become a trademark of hers.

What does she have against the finger? During an interview at the IGN FanExpo (via YouTube), Purnell is asked if she is afraid of being cast for roles with missing fingers. And indeed, she responds:

She explains how annoying it is to have her finger painted every day. Because Lucy in the series has a dead finger sewn on, it likely had to be painted every day in a rotten, bluish color. She complains that the finger is the curse of her life

The index finger is the finger she uses the most. However, she probably shouldn’t have used it due to the color. It would have been viewed sideways if she had used her painted finger to pick up food.
What role did the finger play during filming? The finger even had its own name and was affectionately dubbed Poop Finger

. The makeup designer Mike Harvey came up with the idea to name the finger that way.
