Amazon has revealed the start date for 7 vs. Wild and officially introduced season 5 of the series. But especially one person on the cover leaves fans guessing.
When does it start? Season 5 of 7 vs. Wild will premiere on October 7, 2025, on Amazon. All episodes of the series are expected to be released on YouTube two weeks later as usual. In addition to the 16 episodes of the main series, there will also be a 10-part series with background information on the organization and planning of the show.
7 vs. Wild Season 5 takes place in the Amazon rainforest, and participants can look forward to the following 7 candidates:

But besides the participants, there is another person visible on the announcement poster, about whom nothing has been known so far.

Who is it about? In the official announcement image for 7 vs. Wild Season 5 “Amazonas”, besides the participants, there is also another person visible. They are painted in camouflage and are hiding in the top right of the image. Neither the Instagram announcement nor the official Amazon website mentions who this person is.
While many fans express their frustration on Instagram about the departure of original founders Fritz Meinecke, Max Kovacs, and Johannes Hovekamp under the announcement, some are already speculating about who the person might be.

What are their theories? Several theories about the person are being put forth by fans on Reddit and Instagram. For one, some believe it could be Steven Gätjen, who produced the 7 vs. Wild
-podcast in Season 4 and is now supposed to replace Fritz Meinecke as the new face.
In another theory, it remains unclear who the person is precisely, but their function is interpreted as the new gamemaster, as in Season 4. The role that Fritz Meinecke fulfilled in Season 4 was to secure the participants’ memory cards and provide viewers with some additional information to put what was shown in a better context.
However, whose face is truly seen in the picture and what role they will play in 7 vs. Wild in the future remains a mystery.
