Dracula
Dracula is an ancient myth, but it joins the horror game Dead by Daylight in its Castlevania variant. Even though Dracula’s stats are standard, with a terror radius of 32 meters and a movement speed of 4.6 m/s, one should not be fooled by that. For Dracula can shape-shift and gains many new abilities during this process.
Special Ability: Transformation – Dracula can assume three different forms and switch between them with a short cooldown.
- Vampire Form: His human form. He moves like an ordinary killer, can perform melee attacks, and summon a ranged attack using fire columns.
- Wolf Form: Dracula changes into a wolf form and is played from a 3rd-person perspective. He can better detect scratch marks and blood and pick up scent orbs. As an attack, he can perform a leap attack, which can even become a double jump.
- Bat Form: As a bat, Dracula is much faster, able to pass through windows and pallets without pause. However, he cannot see survivors, but he can hear them. Additionally, Dracula can teleport to leap positions. During this transformation, he also has no terror radius, but the swarm of bats can be clearly heard.
How to use Transformation effectively? The right timing to switch between forms varies. Generally, the bat form is suitable when you want to cover large distances quickly to reach far parts of the map. While it is possible to cut off a survivor’s path with the bat teleport, the lack of visual confirmation makes it reliant on either luck or considerable skill.
Most of the time, it comes down to whether you want to hunt as a wolf or a vampire. While the wolf is well-suited for hunting and poses a challenge for survivors due to its low height, it can be looped fairly well, requiring considerable practice.
The vampire form is designed for situations where you can see over obstacles. This allows you to summon your flame columns, which are not hindered by such obstacles. This way, you can not only overcome barriers but also injure multiple survivors at once.
Who is Dracula suitable for? Dracula is, of course, a must for Castlevania fans, but also for anyone who loves shape-shifters. However, Dracula is a bit more complex than other killers and requires some acclimatization to switch comfortably and confidently between the different forms. Once you have mastered that, nothing stands in the way of enjoyment and a little blood drink.
