The Twins

The Twins are an extraordinary killer in Dead by Daylight, as they are actually two characters in one. Charlotte and Victor are conjoined twins and thus are fused together. Charlotte acts as the “main body” and has the base stats of a normal killer – that is, 115% movement speed and a terror radius of 32 meters. Victor, on the other hand, is small and agile, but also vulnerable.

Dead by Daylight Twins title 1280x720

Special Ability: Blood Bond – Blood Bond allows Charlotte and Victor to separate from each other for a while. Victor then “crawls” out of Charlotte and is playable as an independent character. The player can switch between the two characters at will using the ability key, controlling either Victor or Charlotte. This has many advantages, as the two characters complement each other.

While Victor is left behind in the environment, he reveals survivors in his vicinity to Charlotte through killer instinct as long as the survivors are walking or running.

If Victor is actively controlled, he can move quickly across the map. He is quite small and agile, can attack survivors with a leap attack, and can also jump over obstacles.

  • If Victor leaps at a wounded survivor, that survivor immediately goes down.
  • If Victor leaps at a healthy survivor, Victor claws at them, injuring them and applying “Broken”, “Clueless”, and “Disabled” effects.

Additionally, Victor can find survivors in lockers and hold them there temporarily, allowing a switch to Charlotte.

Victor can also be temporarily killed by survivors. Survivors can approach Victor when he is vulnerable to eliminate him with a quick kick. Victor is vulnerable when:

  • He is sitting somewhere and is not currently being actively controlled.
  • He is briefly stunned when he misses a jump attack and collides with a wall or object.
  • He has jumped at a survivor and has been successfully removed from this survivor.

If Victor is killed, he will regrow in Charlotte after a while.

Little Victor is really nasty – but he also dies quickly.

How to use Blood Bonds correctly? The correct use of Blood Bonds is quite difficult and requires a lot of practice. Since the switch always takes a few seconds, one must weigh many factors to determine whether it makes sense to switch or simply pursue the survivor.

Basically, one must consider how to proceed with Victor and Charlotte. It can be worthwhile to place Victor as a lookout somewhere on the map to see directly when survivors approach him. On the other hand, it can also be rewarding to go on the hunt with Victor directly to take down injured survivors.

In general, it can be said that the jump attack is more useful when survivors are already injured, as they will go down immediately and Victor does not run the risk of being eliminated prematurely.

Those who are very skilled can also drive survivors into Charlotte’s arms with Victor, to then regain control of them at the right moment.

Pro
  • Versatile killer
  • Rewards tacticians and strategists
  • Good tracking abilities thanks to Victor
Contra
  • Playing with dead Victor can be frustrating
  • Extremely steep learning curve

Who are the Twins suitable for? For those who enjoy a fairly complex play style with a lot of tactical freedom. Anyone who is already overwhelmed by playing a single killer should steer clear of the Twins. All others are likely to enjoy this creepy – and pretty disgusting – duo. However, you should prepare for a long learning phase, which can sometimes be frustrating.
