The Blight
The Blight is an original killer from the developers of Dead by Daylight and does not originate from any previously known franchise. He can fall into small sprints, allowing him to attack from unusual angles.
Although the killer appears quite large, he has a low viewpoint, which makes it harder for him to see over obstacles. His movement speed is average among killers, as is his terror radius.
Special Ability: Corrupted Intervention – The Blight can boost himself with a toxic substance that allows him to fall into five consecutive sprints. If he collides with a wall or an object (trees, pallets, rocks, etc.), he bounces off the object and has one second to realign and start another sprint.
During the first sprint, the Blight cannot attack. He must first collide with an object. Only the second sprint of a cycle can be used for an attack, which counts as a normal melee attack.
If the Blight does not land a hit, prematurely ends the sprints, or uses all 5 sprints, the killer will be briefly stunned. After the ability ends, a cooldown of a few seconds begins before Corrupted Intervention can be used again.
A missed attack does not immediately end the sprint. The Blight will continue running a few meters until the sprint runs out.
How to use Corrupted Intervention correctly? The proper application of Corrupted Intervention is quite complicated and requires many hours of practice. Only then can one find out from which surfaces he bounces off at what angle. It is worth experimenting a bit with a friend in a “Custom Game” to learn the exact hit areas of the ability.
Above all, the addon “Vermacktes Monokel” is helpful here, as it shows a target circle during the match where the rot will strike.
It is important to know that you can still slightly control the sprint. You can easily lean to the sides and even take small steps to correct your course during the sprint.
Moreover, it might be worth using sprints merely to bridge distances or to encircle the survivors. Those who try desperately to hit with the rot will likely fail.
Who is the rot suitable for? The rot is suitable for all players who like to think a little “out of the box”. Because with the rot, you don’t simply chase the survivors, but bounce like a pinball off walls to reach the desired spot. This may look somewhat ridiculous to spectators – but once you get the hang of it, you’ll become an effective killing machine.
