In Where Winds Meet, there are many different merchants offering a variety of goods, each with a weekly limit. We explain which items you should buy weekly that are really worth it.
What kind of items are these? All items we recommend for purchase serve to progress your character. They make you stronger, are necessary for upgrades, or are so limited that you should simply buy them even if you don’t need them right now.
How is the guide structured? We have organized this guide by individual merchants or shops. Just use the following menu when you are in front of one of the merchants or in one of the shops to learn which items are suitable for purchase. Items that can only be purchased once from NPCs or are only suitable for specific builds are not included in the guide.

Seasonal Shop
Which items are worth it? In the seasonal shop, you should buy the following items:
- Inner Way Note: Chest (Both stacks for 100 and 150 Jade Fish)
- Necessary to level up passive skills
- Martial Arts: Tailored Tips (both stacks)
- Necessary to level up martial arts skills
- As needed: Food Supply Box
- If items for an upgrade are missing
- Level-X Equipment Box
- Contains equipment for the current level
- Fashion only: Garment Design Shard
- Allows changing outfits later in the game
- Fashion only: Resonating Melody
- Grants a draw in the gacha

Battle Pass Shop
What should you buy for battle pass tokens? The battle pass shop has only a few supplies that are not purely cosmetic. You should secure the following items before thinking about skins:
- Tailored Martial Arts Breakthrough Chest
- Gives you materials for breaking through your martial arts
- Mystical Abilities Breakthrough Support Box
- Gives you rare materials for breaking through mystical abilities
- Tailored Martial Arts Upgrade Chest
- Gives you materials for upgrading martial arts skills
- Fashion only: Rosycloud Dye Powder
- Allows you to dye certain clothes

Merchant at Sky Pier – Xiong Da
What does the general goods merchant offer? The merchant has various items that reset weekly. Especially three items are needed more frequently, but can also be farmed in the open world:
- As needed: Deadly Crystal
- Upgrade material, also farmable in the open world
- As needed: Fragrant Jade
- Upgrade material, also farmable in the open world
- As needed: Bear Fur
- Upgrade material, also farmable in the open world

General Goods Merchant in Harvestfall Village – Xiao Yao
What goods does Xiao Yao have? The merchant in Harvestfall Village offers many ingredients for recipes. Similar to the merchant at Sky Pier, there are two items we need more frequently but can also be found in the open world:
- As needed: Raw Ore
- Upgrade material, also farmable in the open world
- As needed: Coarse Fur
- Upgrade material, also farmable in the open world

Kaifeng General Merchant – Xiao Yuan
What can you buy here? Like the other general merchants, Xiao Yuan mainly sells collectible materials that you can also easily gather yourself. However, if your supplies are insufficient, the weekly visit to the merchant is especially worthwhile for:
- As needed: Raw Ore
- Upgrade material, also farmable in the open world
- As needed: Coarse Fur
- Upgrade material, also farmable in the open world

Kaifeng Hu Niu’s General Goods
What is worthwhile at Hu Niu’s? The merchant sells the rarer open-world resources that Where Winds Meet has to offer. That’s why purchases here are more worthwhile if you have some money left over. Especially these items are useful:
- As needed: Dragon Bone
- Upgrade material, rarely farmable in the open world
- As needed: Blue Jade
- Upgrade material, rarely farmable in the open world
- As needed: Chlorite Schist
- Upgrade material, rarely farmable in the open world
- As needed: Cold Iron
- Upgrade material, rarely farmable in the open world
- As needed: Dushan Jade
- Upgrade material, rarely farmable in the open world
- As needed: Fat-tailed Sheep Fur
- Upgrade material, rarely farmable in the open world
If you have the battle pass or its premium version, you can buy many of the items directly from the mobile merchant instead of teleporting to each individual one. We advise you to build at least a small stock of all upgrade materials so you don’t have to wait for the merchants to reset at 10:00 PM on Sundays.
