In a survey, we at MeinMMO wanted to know which characters you particularly like in Arcane. We evaluated the survey and created a ranking of the most popular characters in the series.
Here’s the deal: Arcane is the new Netflix series set in the League of Legends universe. The series premiered in November and generated a lot of hype. There was also a lot of discussion on our site MeinMMO, especially about the end of the first season.
In a survey, you could choose which characters you liked the most. In total, you had 3 votes to distribute among 22 characters or the option “another character”. By the end of the survey, 1,246 readers had participated and a total of 3,191 votes were cast.

Place 10 – Mel Medarda
Number of votes: 63 (1.97 %)
This is Mel Medarda: Mel Medarda is a council member of Piltover and the richest woman in the city. The Medarda family is a well-known family from Noxus, but Mel was cast out and sent to Piltover to establish herself or fail there.
In the series, she is initially very cold and manipulative. She mocks another council member with a gift for children without doing so overtly, and also controls Jayce. A romance develops between them over the course of the season, with many suspecting that Mel merely wants to use this to her advantage.
Throughout the first season, one learns where the coldness comes from. Her mother was a brutal woman who did not shy away from using violence to achieve her plans.
This inner conflict and the transformation Mel undergoes throughout the series seem to have resonated so well with you that it secured her a spot in the top 10.
Place 9 – Jayce
Number of votes: 71 (2.23 %)
This is Jayce: Jayce is an inventor who was enrolled as a student at the Academy in Piltover. As a child, he and his mother were trapped in a snowstorm and were about to freeze. They were saved at the last moment by a mage who gifted Jayce a magical crystal.
He tinkered with this for years. However, when the gang around Vi broke into his apartment and an explosion occurred, he was expelled from the Academy. Just before his final banishment from Piltover, he managed to gain control of the Hextech crystal with Viktor, earning him a seat on the Piltover council.
His rapid rise was due both to the theft of a crystal by Jinx and Mel Medarda’s intervention. Throughout the series, he tried to fight corruption in Piltover but ultimately failed.
Before the grand finale, he met with Silco to negotiate a deal. Zaun was to gain its independence, but the final vote was abruptly interrupted.
Place 8 – Vander
Number of votes: 167 (5.23 %)
This is Vander: Vander is the guardian of Vi and Jinx. He once led a rebellion of Zaun against Piltover alongside Silco. During this rebellion, the parents of Vi and Jinx were killed, and he felt responsible for them.
At the beginning of the series, Vander is somewhat of a leader in the underground of Zaun. People respect him. However, he has suffered so much that he has grown older and more bitter. He did not want to risk another conflict between the regions, so he made an agreement with Grayson, the leader of the Piltover guards.
However, in episode 3, he was attacked and kidnapped by Silco. During a rescue attempt by Vi’s gang, Vander was thrown into a pile of Shimmer and transformed into a sort of monster. It is speculated that he is transformed into Warwick by Singed.
Place 7 – Heimerdinger
Number of votes: 198 (6.20 %)
This is Heimerdinger: Cecil B. Heimerdinger is a Yordle, one of the small creatures that are widespread in the LoL universe. He is considered a brilliant genius and an excellent scientist.
As the head of the Academy, he trains young inventors and was part of the council of Piltover. He was always critical of Jayce’s inventions because he had witnessed the devastating power they had in the Rune Wars.
In the sixth episode, he was excluded from the council for “preventing progress”. Afterward, he wanders through the alleys of Zaun and is surprised to discover the amazing inventors hidden in the city.
Place 6 – Ekko
Number of votes: 295 (9.24 %)
This is Ekko: Ekko is a prodigy from the rough streets of Zaun. Before he could even crawl, Ekko allegedly built simple machines. In the series, he worked as a child in the workshop of Benzo, a close friend of Vander.
Ekko gave Vi and Jinx’s gang the tip that they could score big loot from a scientist in Piltover. However, this tip turned into a disaster.
After Vander’s death and the disappearance of Vi and Jinx, he founded a safe haven for children and teenagers in Zaun. He also founded the Firelights, who dedicated themselves to fighting Shimmer.
