What is Scream? Scream is a horror series that started in 1996 by director Wes Craven, who is also responsible for Nightmare on Elm Street. Even in the first film, Scream was a comment on classic horror tropes, and the series has maintained this approach to this day.

6. Scream 4
Scream 4 was released 11 years after the first trilogy and picks up right from there. 10 years after the traumatic events, Sidney Prescott is working as an author, having written a self-help book based on her experiences. For the promo, she returns to her hometown Woodsboro. There, she also meets her cousin Jill. As fate would have it, there is a new Ghostface threatening the family.
Scream 4 attempts to find a (at the time) modern approach for its characters. It draws heavily from the first part and the classic “film bros” who resort to violence again. Unfortunately, the film fails to replicate the fun reveals of the other parts, resulting in a rather generic slasher.
