A beta of the MMORPG A:IR has started in Thailand. Players from outside the country can also participate. But what do they think about the game?
What does the Closed Beta offer that is new? The trailer and a graphic show for the first time the races of AI:R that you can play. Until now, only humans were visible. Besides these, the following races also exist:
- There are muscular, green orcs.
- Pointy-eared elves are also included.
- You can also embody the “Ein”, which represent a type of rodent.
Each race can apparently play all of the five classes.

An intriguing MMORPG
What makes the MMORPG interesting? Generally, there is a big interest in A:IR. The MMORPG is particularly appealing to those who enjoy PvP. Because the game basically revolves around large battles fought in the air and on the ground. Therefore, there are many PvP zones.
However, there is also a lot to do in terms of PvE. This includes dungeons and raids, for example. The monster design is particularly praised. Early on, you fight against massive creatures that would serve as boss opponents in other MMORPGs. Grinding plays a significant role, which may not appeal to everyone.
Players are still somewhat concerned that A:IR could become Pay2Win, as the repair of items functions similarly to Black Desert Online. Over time, it will become clear whether these concerns are justified.

How A:IR is received
What do the players think? There are already some opinions about AI:R. Generally, the consensus is that A:IR is heavily directed at those who enjoy Black Desert.
- strangereligion writes on Reddit: “AI:R is a sort of successor to BDO. You will love it!”
- KR Jun mentions in the official forum: “Generally, leveling is quite grindy, but those who know Black Desert will find it easy to get into.”
What is not being received well? The targeting system is not well optimized for many. There is no way to mark a target and keep it in focus, which is problematic during large battles. Generally, the UI is something that still needs optimization, as it is too nested and difficult to use.
Meanseason explains on Reddit: “There are currently no ways to really aim at opponents and keep them in focus. This is not just a problem for damage dealers but also for healers.”
As for the performance of A:IR, some players report of lags and stutters, while others experience the beta running smoothly.
Overall, players are still getting into the game. However, the mood is currently quite positive. The graphics are liked, there is a lot to do, and the flying segments and battles are well received. Of course, this is still a beta, so not everything runs smoothly yet. Nevertheless, A:IR seems to be an MMORPG to keep an eye on.
European beta is still pending
What about the beta for us? There is still no information on the start of a Closed Beta in the USA and Europe.
