How is Aion 2 doing? Before looking at the contents of Aion 2, one should take a look at the feedback from the players of the MMORPG. Aion 2 is breaking all records for NCSoft and is exceeding the expectations of the publisher and developer.
The MMORPG has earned 58 million euros in the first two months and continues to enjoy growing revenue and increasing player numbers. While most MMORPGs lose players after this period, Aion 2 currently knows only one direction: up.
This is also noticeable among the developers, as they recently received a substantial promotion for their good performance and are looking forward to new job titles and advancement within the company.
The goals for the Western release have been revised upwards due to the success in Asia, and NCSoft is currently doing everything to keep the MMORPG on a successful course.
What makes Aion 2 so successful? What makes Aion 2 successful is the perfect mix of nostalgic comfort, modern technology and a reorientation of the gameplay that fits the current times.
Beginning with the hallmark of Aion, which made the predecessor popular: flying. The wings, as the wings are called in Aion 2, make the game world much larger. Instead of walking the same paths from point A to B, the wings allow for vertical exploration, thus expanding the game world by adding new levels.
This also sets Aion 2 apart from the competition. While other games have flying mounts, the exciting gameplay happens primarily on the ground. In contrast, Aion 2 builds its own game world from multiple levels, making it feel much more vibrant due to its height than the fields and forests of other MMORPGs.
The Unreal Engine 5 also plays into the MMORPG’s hands. It allows developers to technically implement this much more complex game world. The result is a game world 36 times larger than in Part 1. And of course, the characters in the game also look great thanks to UE5.
However, flying is not just important for exploration, as Aion 2 also switches between ground and aerial combat, providing a new, fresh gaming experience that you can’t find in any other MMORPG.
