World of Warcraft has dropped a bombshell. The big MMORPG is finally getting player housing.
The Warcraft Direct just aired and revealed the new features coming to World of Warcraft in the upcoming weeks and months. One of the biggest updates was immediately revealed: players will be able to acquire their own homes in the future. Housing will be a feature for World of Warcraft.
What was announced? During the livestream “Warcraft Direct,” future plans for WoW were discussed. The primary focus was on the immediate future, namely patches 11.0.7 and 11.1. However, game director Ion Hazzikostas added a “little extra” at the end of the presentation and showed a trailer that lasts only a few seconds.
A character was seen opening a door and then entering a room. Various decorations and achievements were hanging on the wall – like the head of Onyxia. The hero collapses into a chair, takes a sip, and then sets the jug aside. It reads: “Home Sweet Home.”
Or, to put it plainly: World of Warcraft has announced player housing as a new feature.
When is it coming? The “bad” news is that we will have to wait a while for the feature, as it will be part of the next expansion “Midnight” – likely in 2026. So, it will take a bit more than a year before we can truly enjoy a digital home in Azeroth. But fans will likely be able to pass this waiting time satisfactorily – hoping that the feature will finally be good.
Are you looking forward to housing in World of Warcraft? Do you want a home for your characters in the game? Or do you believe that Azeroth doesn’t need such a feature at all? Let us know in the comments.
