In Apex Legends cheaters are becoming more frequent and brazen. Now there are speed hackers who zip around in live streams. A video of this has now reached tens of thousands of players. But perhaps the hacker problem will soon come to an end.
What did the hacker do? The streamer Trainwreckstv was stunned in a live stream of Apex Legends when suddenly an opponent zipped past him at breakneck speed and disappeared around a corner. Hitting the zipping player was impossible. Trainwreckstv’s shot completely missed.
“What the hell am I playing here? Sonic The Hedgehog?” the streamer said frustratedly about the situation.
The video of the speed hacker spread rapidly across the internet. Tens of thousands have seen it so far.
Hackers plague Apex Legends
What is the current situation? Apex Legends has around 50 million players and among them are now plenty of cheaters. They use wallhacks to see through walls, and aimbots to aim for headshots. Now, super fast speed hackers are joining in too.
Honest players are becoming increasingly frustrated day by day. There are calls on reddit for harsh measures, such as blocking all China players on Western servers. China is considered a stronghold of cheaters and hackers. Cheating in online games is often seen there as a trademark of “winners”.

This is why the hacker plague could soon be over: But the developers of Apex Legends seem to be on the trail of the cheaters. On March 8, 2019, Respawn Entertainment already reported over 350,000 hackers banned.
In addition, they are working on a reporting system and a better anti-cheat system. They have to proceed carefully and skillfully to catch the hackers as effectively as possible.

Do anti-cheat plans have a chance of success? The fight against hackers and cheaters is an eternal war for developers, as cheaters continually acquire new tools to cheat effectively. However, with enough effort and commitment, Respawn could get the problem under control.
According to top streamer Ninja, Fortnite has achieved just that. After 1 to 2 months, they managed to tame the hackers to the point where they largely disappeared and didn’t return.
Apex might achieve this feat as well.
