Fans of Bloodborne have been wishing for a next-gen version of their beloved game for years. However, FromSoftware is not revealing anything. Instead, other, far less known titles are receiving their PS5 ports.
What do Bloodborne fans wish for? The dark Souls-like from FromSoftware is one of the highlights of the PS4 era. On Metacritic, it holds an impressive score of 92 based on 100 reviews. Similarly, 14,245 users think alike and rate the game 9.0. Bloodborne is so popular that it even has an absurd spin-off called “Bloodborne Kart.”
However, several years have passed since its release in 2015, and Bloodborne is technically no longer fresh. Particularly painful: The maximum 30 FPS that can only be increased on PS5 thanks to a fan mod (via gamesradar.com).
That’s why fans have been demanding a true next-gen version of the game for years. So far, their pleas have gone unheard. There are rumors about a PC version, which arose because the new head of Sony is a big fan of the game and is bringing more titles to PC, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Bloodborne remains PS-exclusively available and only in its original version. In contrast, many niche titles have been ported to PS5.

Which games are getting an upgrade? When looking at which titles are being given a next-gen version, Bloodborne fans who have been patiently waiting might feel their neck hairs stand up.
As X user @Wildbergerrrr pointed out, for example, there is a PS5 version of “JoJo Siwa Worldwide Party.” Don’t know who or what that is? In this case, you are either too old or not interested enough in the world of American influencers.
JoJo Siwa is a 21-year-old dancer, singer, and web video producer. She became famous through the reality show “Dancing Moms.”
In 2022, she got her own game called “JoJo Siwa Worldwide Party,” subtitled “A Celebration for Everyone” in German. It was released for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and also for PS4. Players on PS5 can get a free upgrade for the current console.
In this game, you automatically run through various worlds while listening to the biggest hits from JoJo Siwa. Watching the trailer on YouTube gives a good impression of the game. Everything is very colorful, and the protagonist speaks directly to her fans – the target audience does not seem to be the typical gamer.
On Steam, the game only has eight reviews, most of which are positive but emphasize: This game is only for true fans of the influencer. On Metacritic, the only two reviewers write that mainly young girls and families will enjoy it.
Another title that has received a PS5 upgrade is “Peppa Pig: World Adventure,” an adaptation of the cartoon series that is clearly aimed at children.
While lesser-known games are being released in modern versions, Bloodborne fans continue to wait in vain. At least there are alternatives on current systems that strike a similar chord in terms of setting, mood, and gameplay. In particular, Bloodborne fans should take a look at Lies of P.
