Blizzard has introduced new content for Season 8 in Diablo 4 – and a small change is particularly pleasing for group players. Because it saves them time, clicks, and loading screens.
With Season 8 comes fresh content in Diablo 4, including the seasonal mechanic that allows you to take on the powers of defeated bosses to enhance your builds. Additionally, the endgame bosses will become hideout bosses, which you can summon without materials. Also, three new bosses are coming to the game – including Belial.
In the patch notes for the PTR (public test server), which runs from March 11 to March 18, 2025 on Battle.net for PC, there is a small change that makes playing in a group more pleasant.
“Better late than never, I guess”
What is this change? In the patch notes on the Blizzard website, it states that players in a group can teleport directly to other group members via the social menu. This makes everything significantly easier and saves you the hassle of traveling back and forth.
Currently, you must first go to a larger city – like Kyovashad – to use your group member’s portal and travel to them. Quite cumbersome, and over time, it adds up in terms of time. With the change, not only do you save a few clicks, but also depending on your location, you may avoid a loading screen and time that you could spend slaying monsters.
How is the change being received? In the subreddit for Diablo 4, Interesting_Fox2040 shares their excitement about the change, calling it a “great quality-of-life improvement.” Midevilmarcellus also praises the small but nice upgrade. Meanwhile, maobezw points out that “this was possible in Diablo 3 from the beginning.” The post creator responds: “Better late than never, I guess.”
The Reddit user a920116 writes in another post: “This is probably the best change in the entire patch notes for Season 8.” In the comments, there is a discussion about whether it would be even easier with a click on the profile picture. Some speculate that Blizzard decided on the social menu due to controller navigation.
On the PTR, you can try out the new content until March 18, 2025. If you prefer to wait for the “real” season, you’ll have to be patient until the end of April – as Season 8 will then begin.
