Bungie occasionally introduces changes in Destiny 2 that should make the lives of Guardians easier. One of these appeared a few weeks ago, but many Guardians didn’t even notice it. It was a desired feature 7 years ago, but now it’s finally here.
What feature is it? It mainly concerns the vault and its function of how to access your items. Many Guardians either use third-party sites like DIM and transfer their items from Guardian to Guardian using a PC or an app.
If you don’t trust such programs, you have to access your items the old-fashioned way: drive to the Tower and interact with the vault.
This can take up to 5 minutes depending on server load and loading times, which can be really annoying over time. For this reason, Bungie has now implemented the system that allows you to easily access the vault from orbit – thus no loading times or third-party tools are necessary.
Time savings without third parties
How can I access the feature? The feature can be activated relaxed from orbit. On a controller, you need to press “Down” on the D-pad – on PC, that’s the S key. A new vault window will now open. You can switch to your inventory with the vault open to transfer items to the vault. It is also possible to pull items from the vault into your inventory.
Many long-time players will probably forgo the feature as they have befriended third-party sites over the years, which even offer useful options for creating builds.
However, it is a practical “Quality of Life” feature that mainly new players and fans who know nothing about these third-party options can appreciate. 7 years is a long time, and when you factor in the time spent flying from orbit to the Tower or the H.E.L.M over those 7 years, such an update was desperately needed.
