A new title for Star Wars has been leaked via the PlayStation Network. It is called Project Maverick and is said to be a real project according to the website Kotaku.
What is behind Project Maverick? So far, there is only one image that was automatically shared via the Twitter account of PSN. The accompanying message states:
The game Maverick has been added to the European PSN
The website Kotaku claims that it is one of the games by EA that they briefly mentioned in February. It is said to be a “smaller and rather unusual” project that is to be developed by EA Motive in Montreal. However, there are no further details.

What can be seen in the picture? Besides the wording “Project Maverick,” you can see a Star Destroyer and a few X-Wings in the background. This suggests that the game takes place around the era of the original trilogy, when Star Destroyers were most prevalent.
Visually, the color scheme somewhat reminds of Mustafar, the planet where Obi-Wan and Anakin once dueled. However, the image does not provide any real information about what the game is about.
As soon as new details are released, we will update this post accordingly.
New Star Wars titles always create excitement
Why is this exciting? Generally, new “Star Wars” games always attract a lot of attention. The fan base is huge and many buy the titles just because of the franchise name.
While Fallen Order was a huge success in 2019, Battlefront 2 did not do well upon release. There were complaints regarding loot boxes.
However, Battlefront 2 has recovered and provided good expansions for new players. Kotaku also reported on a spin-off to Battlefront, which has reportedly been canceled. Additionally, a sequel to Fallen Order is said to be in the works.
So these two titles are not what Mavericks is about.
What is the PSN? The PlayStation Network is the community as well as the webshop of Sony, developed for its corresponding console. The Twitter account with the image, on the other hand, automatically posts all updates happening in the shop.
This is how the image of Star Wars Mavericks reached the public.
However, not everything always runs smoothly at PSN. At the end of 2019, PS4 players tried to sell cocaine via the platform.
