A trainer from Pokémon GO has far exceeded the necessary experience points for the next level. However, he has not yet reached the next level.
In Pokémon GO, increasing one’s level is a motivation for many trainers. While the highest level was initially set at level 40, trainers can now reach the maximum level of 50.
Social media is buzzing about a trainer who has already far surpassed the necessary amount of experience points for the next level. However, he still has not reached the next level, and there could be a simple reason for this.
148,721,750 of 7,500,000 experience points
Why hasn’t the trainer reached the next level yet? As seen in a screenshot on Reddit, the trainer is currently at level 41. To reach level 42, he needs 7,500,000 experience points. And he has not only narrowly surpassed that, he has far exceeded it.
The image shows that the trainer currently possesses a whopping 148,721,750 experience points. He has more than 19 times the necessary amount of experience points.
From the moment you reach level 40 in the game, you not only need experience points to level up. Additionally, you must complete certain tasks at each level to reach the next level.
For level 42, in addition to the experience points, the following tasks are required:
- Evolve Eevee into each of its evolutions
- Use items to evolve 15 Pokémon
- Make 3 excellent throws
- Use 200 berries to catch Pokémon
When it comes to Eevee evolutions, there is a special hurdle. If you have already evolved Eevee before reaching level 41, those do not count towards the task. Therefore, you must complete all evolutions after you reach the level.
Up to that point, many trainers have already used the nickname trick for Eevee evolutions to ensure that the evolution of Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon occurs randomly.
For the remaining evolutions, you must meet additional criteria to perform each evolution.
What does the community say about it? Some commenters suspect that the task involving the Eevee evolutions is the reason the trainer has not yet reached the next level. Some trainers in the post are also able to explain why they have not completed the tasks and reached the next level:
- “I’m in the same boat. I have 3 Eevee to evolve. The problem is… It’s been so long that I don’t remember which ones I’ve already evolved,” writes miss_leslie24
- “I need to evolve the two Eevees that require a lure module, and I’m never close enough to a lure module to use the full 30 minutes. I want it to be worth my while,” says ChanelNo50
- “I don’t feel the need to level up beyond 40 because the Rockets are getting stronger, and the level cap is removed when you reach 40,” notes Kirenciner
Store Eevee until it is time: We understand this problem in our editorial office as well. MyMMO colleague Max Handwerk, for instance, is currently at level 41 but still needs about 1 million XP for the next level.
So, all Eevee specimens are currently being stored until the XP collection is eventually complete – and then evolving them all at once. This way, one does not forget how many they have already evolved in the meantime.
