A player from World of Warcraft has finally completed an achievement after 9 years that others have surely completed multiple times. The special thing in this case: The Azeroth hero can only use both hands to a very limited extent.
What is this achievement? The WoW player milotic03 was finally able to fully earn a current elite PvP set from The War Within after 9 years. To do this, the player had to reach a rating of 1,800 within the current PvP season to receive all the transmog appearances of the set.
What might be the simplest of exercises for some PvP veterans was hard work for milotic03. On Reddit, he explains the reason: In 2016, he had chronic knee pain. The resulting examinations revealed a very high uric acid level of 10.0. The treatment consisted of a precisely dosed medication and the prohibition of eating meat.
After a month of treatment, milotic03 suddenly collapsed because his oxygen level had dropped to a very low value. The reason revealed itself in the hospital: His uric acid level was practically at 0. The laboratory had initially made an error, mistaking 1.00 for the aforementioned 10.0. The resulting treatment was therefore potentially fatal.
However, this was prevented in the hospital. Nevertheless, there are long-term damages. His memory is permanently impaired regarding events before 2016. Additionally, there has been damage to the nervous system, making it possible for him to use his hands only to a very limited extent (only one finger can be used on each hand simultaneously (via Reddit)). His legs are also said to be affected.
Another nice story from the WoW community:
“I can’t believe it”
How is the community reacting to the achievement? With 5,500 thumbs up and more than 230 comments. Many players celebrate the achievement with very kind words.
- Lucky_Vermicelli7864 notes on Reddit what such a handicap means: “Extreme congrats! I have multiple sclerosis (SPMS), so I know how it feels.”
- o0CrimsonFlare0o celebrates on Reddit the achievement: “I just wanted to drop by and congratulate you on your great performance! Don’t let your disability hold you back! Keep it up!”
- Rooach2 comments on Reddit with humor: “The guy has a handicap and still beats me in PvP. I can’t believe it. Well done.”
- wasd0109 hopes on Reddit that WoW will be even more accessible in the future: “Congratulations! I hope that the one-button rotation can make more content accessible to players who depend on accessibility.”
With the one-button rotation, wasd0109 refers to an announcement from Blizzard in the past weeks, intending to ban various add-ons to offer their functions by default in the game. This also includes the ability to use the rotation with just one button: Blizzard plans huge changes to WoW, banning add-ons and wants you to be able to play with just one button.
