In Diablo 4, you can craft the most powerful items yourself. A player crafted a Mythic Unique but never received it. The community immediately has a theory about what his mistake was.
The Mythic Uniques (mythical, unique items) are particularly powerful items that can greatly influence your builds and are rarer than “normal” Uniques. Since Season 6, you can craft Mythic Uniques in two ways:
- A random Mythic from two Pristine Sparks and 50,000,000 gold at the blacksmith
- A specific Mythic from two Pristine Sparks, runes, and 5,000 gold at the jewel smith
Many players rely on the variant at the blacksmith, as they lack the necessary runes – or because they do not own any at all. For the runes are part of the first expansion of Diablo 4, Vessel of Hatred. Instead of waiting forever for the materials, they simply decide to craft a random Mythic.
One user on Reddit also opted for a random Mythic Unique. He broke down two mythical Uniques, received two “Pristine Sparks” in return, and was then able to craft a “Mythical Unique Chest” at the blacksmith. But then it suddenly disappeared – and he ended up empty-handed.
What happened to the Mythic? In a video on Reddit, the user shows how he initially breaks down two Mythics to obtain two Pristine Sparks. He then crafts a chest at the blacksmith that contains a random Mythic Unique. You can see all the Mythics that currently exist in our overview.
When he opens the chest, he expects a Mythic – but instead, nothing drops. The chest simply disappears from his inventory without dropping an item. This means the player not only wasted two Mythics or two Sparks but ends up with nothing at all. In his post, he asks, “Has anyone experienced this? Did I just have bad luck?”
“100% messed up myself”
What does the community say about it? In the comments, users discuss the disappearance of the Mythic item. However, many do not believe he simply had bad luck, but rather that he is indeed to blame:
- Uccin writes: “That’s why I open all chests in an open area. Nothing random you could click on at the same time.”
- flesyMeM says: “Maybe it has to do with the fact that you opened it while sitting down or standing up. But yes, whatever the cause is – you just had bad luck.”
- KennedyPh comments: “It might have dropped in an area you can’t reach. It’s better to open chests in open areas.”
- passive_me relates: “I opened my first [chest] near my portal in the city and accidentally got teleported out while clicking on the loot. When I immediately returned, everything was gone. Lesson learned.”
Carbinekilla also writes that he “100% messed up himself”. He dodged, sat down, and interacted with the chair right at the moment he opened the chest. And Adventurous_Ad_4145 notes that the interaction with the chair apparently blocked all other actions. He hopes Blizzard helps the unfortunate player out of this situation.
If you do not yet have any Mythics to break down or do not want to rely on luck when crafting randomly, you can simply hope for a mythical loot drop. With a bit of luck, you will receive Mythic Uniques from activities such as the Underworld of Kurast or the Hell Hordes.
