This is how the foreign Raider ended up as a “hostage”: The foreign Raider is a Reddit user who posted a video in the game’s subreddit. The video shows him as a “hostage” of a pack of gamers.
The Reddit user was playing ARC Raiders solo when his character was taken down and lay on the ground. However, in the Extraction Shooter by Embark, players can still extract when incapacitated – provided that there are no enemy Raiders or ARCs to finish them off, and they are willing to crawl to the nearest exit for minutes.
The Reddit user’s video shows that he was not alone in his suffering. He was accompanied by 4-5 foreign players who kept the ARCs off his back, healed him, and shouted “motivational quotes” in the game’s in-game chat.
However, the helpers were so enthusiastic that it was somewhat forbidden for him to give up. Again and again, it was said, “Keep crawling” and “You better not give up.” He basically ended up in a well-meaning hostage situation.

This is how it turned out: The player actually managed to crawl to a Raider hatch, which one of the helpers opened with a key. He crawled in and successfully exfiltrated back to Speranza.

Some users believed that someone would execute him just before the exit, as a Twitch streamer did a few months ago during a similar escort. However, that did not happen.
Different paths lead to exfil
This is how downed players can extract: You can extract at any time when you are incapacitated but not yet dead – as long as you can make it into an elevator before you bleed out completely. You will not lose your equipment or loot.
The best way to do this is with the loot mark 3 with the Survivor perk, which regenerates the health of an downed Raider by up to 75% when he is not moving while incapacitated. Alternatively, other Raiders can heal you with bandages and restore your health points. If someone does this regularly, you can even crawl greater distances to the next exit.
