A new macro makes sense and “excites” the community of World of Warcraft. But whether you really want it remains to be seen.
If you look at the WoW subreddit, you find yourself between Scylla and Charybdis. Sometimes there’s a post about how unlucky someone is when collecting mounts, then someone complains about the community in M+, and then someone celebrates that Xal’atath’s feet can again be seen in the new cinematic.
At least for the last group of players, someone has now created a macro to keep this sight eternal. If that’s what you want.
What is this macro? In Grayvves’ post, he shows the effect of a small macro that he wrote together with Songzeee. The macro can either be transferred directly into a macro in the game or simply typed into the chat to trigger the effect.
If you want to try the macro yourself for the sake of research – here, please:
/run if not ms then ms=CreateFrame("ModelScene",nil,UIParent)ms:SetPoint("TOP")ms:SetSize(512,512)ac=ms:CreateActor()ac:SetModelByFileID(5159886)ac:SetAnimation(1138)ac:SetPosition(2,0,0)else ms:SetShown(not ms:IsShown())endWhat does the macro do? I don’t really want to write it, but somehow I have to: The macro causes the model of Xal’atath to be displayed in a floating position on the screen – but only the back of her feet at the top of the screen. There she floats calmly in front of you until you press the macro a second time, and she disappears from your screen.
Community reacts exactly as you fear: The reactions from the community are – as almost always with this topic – quite positive. By now, the joke about the display of Xal’atath’s feet has taken on a life of its own, so that people hardly dare to ask what is just humorous exaggeration and what is a secret preference. Some of the quotes:
- “Funny, but let me ask the question that can be summed up in a single word: ‘Why?'” – shinrak2222
- “Quite impressive.” – krin132
- “Every day we move further away from the light.” – burrito-boy
If you want to have a floating companion on your next visit to a dungeon or raid – now you can have Xal’atath with her – according to a strange part of the community – most important body parts always close to you. But maybe that will help you to collect all achievements in the game, just like this player.
