The new MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is thrilled with a new decision: In February 2024, it was announced that they would switch to a season model to continuously deliver more updates. They are now excited about the success of Season 1.
Here’s the team celebrating: The team of the MMORPG Pantheon celebrates in a newsletter from March (via pantheon):
- Season 1 of Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen was a
overwhelming success
- They attracted many more players to the MMORPG than expected, and thus received invaluable player data
- A lot of new players joined the MMORPG, and some of them played for 24 hours or more straight
New 6-week season starting soon
What’s next: Season 2 starts on March 30. The centerpiece of the new content update is the dungeon “Mad Run” for players in the level range 17 to 24.
However, there is also a world boss of level 45 in the dungeon. The dungeon is hand-designed to be particularly challenging
Additionally, the team is working on the “Perception System,” which aims to give players insights into the world, and they want to improve combat.
What’s behind it: We reported in February about Pantheon’s idea to now sell several quite expensive packages to offer access to the seasons that last 6 weeks.
This was mostly discussed negatively back then because you have to pay $750 to play through the entire 6 weeks.
But there was also the option to pay $50 to test one of the six weeks. Some must have taken advantage of that.
In any case, the development seems to give new momentum to the MMORPG that was almost thought to be dead, even if access to a game at such an early stage is probably expensive.
However, there are still negative voices on MMORPG sites. Some calculate how many seasons
, that is, real-world seasons, have passed since the MMORPG was announced. This happened on January 13, 2014 – for critics, far too little has happened in the development of the PvE MMORPG since then.
