The action RPG Ravenlok is currently the latest title in Microsoft’s subscription service. MeinMMO author Nicole played it and felt like Alice in Wonderland.
What is Ravenlok about? In Ravenlok, you can expect a fantastical adventure of a young heroine destined to fulfill a prophecy. A mirror, behind which lies a quirky world, is the trigger for her journey.
You start with nothing but boredom, as Ravenlok’s family has just moved into their new home. Driven by her lack of engagement, the heroine enters a barn and becomes aware of a mysterious mirror. Behind it lies a colorful voxel world.
This world reminds of Alice in Wonderland with its fairytale design, its characters, and above all, the tyrannical queen. A large cat, a mushroom forest, and a labyrinth contribute to this.

This is how I discovered the game: Without the Game Pass, I probably wouldn’t have noticed Ravenlok.
First, the cover image of the fantasy game caught my eye, as it reminded me of the evil queen in Alice in Wonderland. The fact that the heroine is drawn into a dark fairytale world made me all the more curious.
The time I spent in the kingdom sweetened my weekend – especially since I have a weakness for quirky characters. I also really liked the enemy design. Some monsters looked like a mix of animal and robot, while others resembled mythical creatures.
The developers also praise the Game Pass: The Game Pass has proven to be very helpful. According to the developer team, it has allowed access to many players of all experience levels. Other Reddit users also mention that they probably wouldn’t have discovered the game without the Game Pass.
Who is Ravenlok suitable for? For anyone who enjoys a fast-paced action RPG in a beautiful environment without breaking a sweat in boss battles. The individual sections that the heroine goes through are filled with imaginative details. According to “Howlongtobeat,” you need between 3 to 4 hours to complete it.
Important to know: The game currently only has English voice and text output. The texts are easy to understand if you have basic English skills.
The game invites exploration and is also suitable for beginners. Besides a combat tutorial, there are many small tasks that guide through the story. In battling the various monsters, the heroine is supported by sword and shield, but also by special abilities.
