He is the last of his kind, and he is to blame for it: Lobo killed all the inhabitants of his home planet by unleashing toxic, scorpion-like insects on them.
In addition to his brutal nature, there are a few other abilities that make him a tough opponent for the good heroes at DC. On the one hand, Lobo has the power to regenerate himself and his body in case of injuries.
This goes so far that he only needs a single drop of his blood to reconstruct his entire body. This means that an opponent like Superman could tear Lobo into as many pieces as he wants; as long as a drop of blood remains, theoretically, the villain can recover from it.
On the other hand, Lobo is physically very strong. He carries out his bounty hunter assignments with great zeal and never lets go of his target. However, the character is not free of weaknesses. Lobo is addicted to both alcohol and smoking, which likely robbed him of the needed focus in an important fight against Superman.
Lobo vs. Superman
How did the fights between the two look like? Lobo and Superman have encountered each other several times over the years and have delivered some serious blows. While the Man of Steel usually has the upper hand, it has often been a close fight.
Particularly exciting is the encounter from Adventures of Superman #464. The story from 1990 tells how Lobo and Superman meet in the Fortress of Solitude. The bounty hunter is extremely drunk, and a heated battle ensues.
