The true original of 4Story by Zemi Interactive and Gameforge from 2008 has so many fans that it managed to achieve a strong 7th place in our vote for the best MMORPGs of all time. Due to its old age and outdated technology, a modernized and improved version could have been well worth it.

However, what you can expect in 4Story: The Original is not this. Instead, the developers here are apparently trying to squeeze a little more money out of their franchise with as little effort as possible. The fact that at the time of the launch on Steam, a remarkable 80 percent of all user reviews were negative speaks volumes.
Meanwhile, it has managed to reach 31 percent positive overall ratings on Steam, but players continue to complain about the aggressive shop, pay-to-win, the high number of bugs, lack of anti-cheat measures, and poor customer support. Improvements of any kind are, however, in short supply.
The best news is that there are almost few affected players. At peak, 4Story: The Original had only 1,040 simultaneous active players. Now, it’s usually between 200 and 300 (Source: steamdb.info). The trend is downward.
Our recommendation: Save yourself the download and don’t invest any money in 4Story: The Original. You will most likely regret it. Instead, reinstall the old version if you’re in the mood for nostalgia. Or directly play one of the 10 highest-rated MMORPGs on Steam.
