Rank 5: Realm of Simplicity
Developer: Pure Heart Game Studio | Platform: PC (Steam) | Release date: January 24, 2025 | Payment model: Free2Play | Status: Early Access
In Realm of Simplicity, the name says it all, as can be seen from the simple 3D graphics and continues with the straightforward point-and-click controls. The medieval MMORPG from Pure Heart is one of many current projects that aims to evoke nostalgic memories of genre classics like RuneScape with its old-school experience.
According to the 208 Steam reviews so far, which are only 61 percent positive, the plan is only partially working. While various players do indeed feel reminded of the aforementioned RuneScape, the developers apparently overdo it with the grind, which slows down your progression even in the tutorial.
Some who endured the grind found it quite frustrating to have to reset progress halfway through, forcing a start over.
This is a game for a very small niche, as the player numbers also show: Currently, there are usually just under 10 players online simultaneously on Steam. The peak was 110 concurrent active players 7 months ago (Source: steamdb.info).
According to Steam, the MMORPG is supposed to stay in early access for 1 to 2 years. The developers promise PvPvE dungeons, world boss events, and further content to expand the current crafting and quest content.
