In this article, we want to reveal to you 7 more secrets that you probably missed. These secrets can be interesting for gameplay reasons or reveal exciting details about the game world of Elden Ring. We list these 7 secrets in no specific order.

1. Certain weapons have special evasive attacks
Curved swords, thrusting swords, and heavy thrusting swords have a special maneuver that you cannot perform with any other weapon category. These are feints, which existed in Dark Souls. However, in Elden Ring, they are quite hidden.
With a weapon from one of the three weapon categories, you can charge a heavy attack with R2 (PlayStation) or RT (Xbox) and then press the evade button. This interrupts the heavy attack and seamlessly leads into a special, elegant attack that dodges and attacks simultaneously.
This trick is quite niche in use, but can surprise unaware players, especially in PvP. However, there is one weapon that becomes even better with this trick.
The Ice Needle, which shines with an A rank in our weapon tier list, has a very special heavy attack. This thrusting sword fires a small icicle with which you can attack your opponents from a distance.
Together with the feint, you can thus dodge and fire a projectile at the same time. This is a clever trick in PvP and can help keep opponents at bay and lure them in PvE.
You can find the Ice Needle in the Royal Ruins of Liurnia, hidden under a secret floor. These screenshots show you the exact location of this well-hidden weapon:
To obtain the weapon, you must first defeat an equally dangerous and annoying enemy – the royal ghost. However, the next secret helps immensely here.
2. Ghosts are allergic to healing magic
In Elden Ring, there is a group of enemies known as ghosts. However, they do not look like people under a bedsheet.
Instead, they are the bell-ringing enemies on horseback or the incredibly annoying royal ghosts, whose aggression and many arms keep even the most experienced players on their toes.
But there is a very simple trick against these nasty opponents. Summons that you can use for healing deal incredible damage to these ghosts. Especially summons that heal in a wide area are particularly strong weapons against these ghosts.

3. The sky hides a great secret
The moon plays a significant role in the world of Elden Ring. In particular, the main characters in Liurnia, Ranni and Rennala, have many references to the moon. This also applies to the most powerful magic spells you can use in the game.
But why is there talk of a dark moon that is assigned to Ranni, and Rennala’s full moon? The answer hides in the sky.
When you reach the moonlight altar at the end of Ranni’s quest, you should look up. Because especially on Chenola’s Tower in the southwest, under the right weather conditions, you can discover a well-hidden secret.
The Betweenlands actually has 2 moons:
The fact that one of the two – the dark moon – can only be seen at this place so important to Ranni raises big questions for the lore of Elden Ring.
On reddit, fans even speculate that this explains the name of the game world: “Oh, because they are in the Betweenlands. They are between moons.”
Some item descriptions even suggest that the discovery of a moon is of great significance. The Great Hood, for example, is “a kind of shroud for those who finally find what they have been searching for so long.” Such a long-desired discovery is apparently the discovery of Rennala’s moon:
4. You can destroy the chariots in the hero graves
You can encounter your first chariot very early in the game, when you choose a stone sword key as a keepsake.
In the tutorial dungeon, a hero grave is hidden behind a milky-white fog wall, patrolled by a deadly chariot. Avoiding these chariots is the great challenge of these hero graves.
But you can also destroy 2 of these chariots and even snag some really strong loot. Here’s how:
- In the grave of a marginal folk hero, you need to jump down all the platforms until you reach an elevator. After that, you will be on a kind of balcony where you can see 3 large explosive barrels. Wait until the chariot touches the wall right in front of you and shoot an arrow at the hanging rope of one barrel. That should explode right above the chariot. (Video guide via YouTube)
- In the Auriza grave, walk down the corridor until you stand before several pillars. To the left is an abyss, and to the right a platform with a new chariot and a corpse with an item. Jump at the corpse onto the beams below you and follow the path. Eventually, you will reach a pillar that spits fire. Attack this once and take the elevator up. Now there should be a big collision of all the chariots, causing them to break apart. (Video guide via YouTube)
Once the chariots are broken, you can explore the graves much more easily.
You cannot destroy the chariot in the hero grave of Gelmir, however, you can ride on the chariot. To do this, you need to jump down to the first possible platform onto X-shaped beams. Here you wait until the chariot is under you. Now you can jump onto it and get carried over the lava to the end of the dungeon.
5. NPCs cannot evade night spells
If you have ever tried a mage build, you are probably familiar with the frustrating issue of evasive enemies. No matter how hard you try – every time you want to cast your spell, the NPC enemies evade it at the perfect moment.
This is not because you are bad. The enemy AI in Elden Ring uses something called “input reading.” This means that the AI knows exactly what button you press and when, and reacts superhumanly quickly accordingly.
This input reading is also the reason why some bosses like the Godskin Noble always attack you with ranged magic when you want to heal. The enemies know perfectly what you are doing the moment you do it – and respond with a tailored counter at just the right time.
Mages with their slow animations particularly suffer from this input reading. But one form of magic bypasses this as a secret trick. Night spells are said to be particularly sneaky, which is why no NPC (not even bosses) will evade them.
While night spells deal less damage than their glimmerstone cousins, that hardly matters when you are guaranteed to hit with night magic in return.
The next secret makes you even more dangerous as a mage.
6. There are secret magic combos
The mentioned animations in magic are one of the biggest disadvantages of this otherwise powerful playstyle. However, with a secret trick you can significantly improve your performance.
In Elden Ring, you can actually initiate secret magic combos that allow you to transition from one attack seamlessly and significantly faster into the next attack. This works after both normal attacks and other spells.
So, for example, if you attack with a weapon and then cast the Carian Slice as a spell, you will cast the spell significantly faster than if you use it first.
This trick also works with summons. If you perform a shorter summon before your powerful dragon magic, the dragon animation will be much shorter.
Quickly switching between spells can be difficult, but those who master this secret trick will become a significantly more dangerous mage in PvE and PvP.
7. A statue in the capital hides the greatest lore secret
This secret has already spread through the community; it is also part of the quest of Corhyn and Goldmask. But we do not want to withhold it from you if you have missed it so far.
In the capital Leyndell, at some point you will fight the spirit of Godfrey, and afterwards you can discover this secret.
Above the boss room of Godfrey’s spirit, at the grace site Refuge of the Erdtree, a book is hidden. You can get this by first jumping over a tree trunk to the balcony above the grace site and then jumping into an open window on the left from the outside area.
With this, you can learn the summon Law of Regression from the Turtle Pope. To use it, you need 37 Wisdom.
Back at the Refuge of the Erdtree, go west and take the elevator down. You will see in front of a statue of Radagon a message that does not come from a player. Use the Law of Regression (requires 37 Wisdom) while looking at the statue.
The biggest secret in Elden Ring is now revealed, as the statue transforms before your eyes. From Radagon, it becomes Queen Marika, and the same message reveals the secret clearly: Radagon and Marika are the same person.
