2. Night of the Living Dead
At the beginning of this list, there is a true classic of the zombie genre. In 1968, Night of the Living Dead was released by George A. Romero. The film was the progenitor of the genre and introduced slow-moving zombies to the mainstream for the first time. Although there had been zombie films before, George A. Romero made them acceptable.

3. Paranormal Activity
Nowadays, the Paranormal Activity series has been forgotten, but when the first film was released, it redefined the haunted house genre and spawned many clones trying to replicate it. While there are better representatives of the genre today, the film’s camera work and its relatively subtle threat distinguish it from contemporary genre entries.
