In Destiny 2, Season 6 is just around the corner. It has several new features to offer – even for Guardians who don’t own the annual pass.
What is happening on Tuesday in Destiny 2? On Tuesday, March 5th, Season 6, the Season of the Vagabond, begins. It will bring fresh content for Guardians.
Annual pass holders will receive significantly more content than players who have not purchased the paid Annual Pass. The biggest new features, Gambit Prime and Reckoning mode, are exclusive to the annual pass.
Nevertheless, all other Guardians will benefit from Season 6.
The hunt for new, powerful weapons begins
What powerful weapons can everyone hunt in Season 6?
- All Guardians will have access to an exotic quest
- All Guardians can acquire new pinnacle weapons
This is the Exotic in question: The exotic quest is likely about the Thorn. It is an exotic hand cannon that dominated PvP in Destiny 1 and is now making a return in Destiny 2.
The Thorn quest starts on March 12th. Then, all Guardians will probably be able to earn this Exotic, which will change slightly in Destiny 2.
These are the new pinnacle weapons: Pinnacle weapons are powerful, legendary weapons that you can only acquire with significant effort. In Season 6, three new pinnacle weapons are coming, one each for PvP, Gambit, and Vanguard activities.
- Oxygen SG3 (Vanguard): This is a scout rifle with solar damage. The special perk causes the Libelle perk (precision kills create an elemental damage explosion) to deal more damage. This damage is increased based on the number of previously landed precision hits.
- The Recluse (Crucible): This is a submachine gun with void damage. The special perk causes kills with any weapon to increase the Recluse’s damage for a short time.
- 21% Delirium (Gambit): This is a machine gun with arc damage. The special perk causes kills to increase the weapon’s damage until it is stowed or reloaded.

Xur becomes interesting again
The current problem with Xur: Xur is an exotic trader in Destiny 2 who appears every Friday and offers exotic goods for a few days. However, he has never brought Forsaken exotics.
Exotic items have been extremely rare since Forsaken. In the months before, players were overwhelmed with Exotics from Year 1. Since Xur only brought Year 1 Exotics since Forsaken, he became rather dull.
This is how Xur will be in Season 6: Bungie has now confirmed that Xur can bring Forsaken exotics starting from Season 6. However, his offerings will remain random. It is not guaranteed that he will bring Forsaken items every week.
This means that everyone will soon have a chance to specifically complete their exotic collection, as long as the noodle-faced trader hears the Guardians’ wishes.
Armor pieces become more exciting
What is changing with the armors? Starting from Season 6, you can not only hunt for new weapons or stock up your Exotics from Xur, but also acquire armor pieces that better fit your loadout.
According to Bungie’s community manager dmg04, the Year 2 armor will be updated tomorrow. From then on, random rolls will be present on the respective armor types.
There is Heavy armor, Restorative armor, and Mobile armor.
What does the change mean? The perks that were previously limited to Mobile armor can then also randomly appear on Heavy armor or Restorative armor.
This gives you more variety when customizing your armors.
Bungie is working on the sandbox
What is changing? Tomorrow evening, Bungie will release the full patch notes for Season 6. Only then will we learn in detail how the sandbox will change. Among the known adjustments are:
- Legendary grenade launchers and rocket launchers will be getting stronger. They are supposed to become rewarding alternatives to the powerful exotics in the power slot.
- The exotic Titan helmet One-Eyed Mask will be nerfed. This was the first choice for many Titans in PvP.
- Linear fusion rifles and shotguns will be adjusted. The former are too dominant in Gambit, while the latter are too strong with the auto-loading perk.
What does this mean for the Guardians? All Guardians can try out new weapons and items to find the new best weapons. The player experience will change as a result. You won’t be running around with your old gear anymore.
New events for everyone
What are these events about? While the new game modes of Season 6 are reserved for annual pass holders, multiple events will take place during the new season in which all Guardians can participate.
- Iron Banner: This is a monthly PvP event that will drop new armor pieces in Season 6.
- Arc week: From April 9th to 16th, the Arc week will run, about which nothing is known so far. We only know that it will be free for all players.
- The Revelry: This will be a large spring event taking place from April 16th to May 6th. It will be held in a well-known forest that is blooming with fresh loot. In other words, it seems to be taking place in the Everforest, where you will be able to fight for new loot.
You will get more to collect
What’s new to collect? In addition to new weapons and armor pieces, all Guardians can
- collect new triumphs
- collect new lore books
- and collect new decorative rewards.
The decorative rewards are cosmetic items that you receive through the Eververse. Bungie is changing this in-game shop for Season 6, but the changes are not being received well by many Guardians:
Improvements for Forsaken owners
This is what Forsaken owners (without the annual pass) get: The previous content was available to all Guardians who own Destiny 2. If you purchased the Forsaken expansion (without the annual pass), you will additionally receive these new features with Season 6:
- Private matches for the Gambit mode starting March 5th
- Two new maps for the Gambit mode
- Increase of the power level cap by 50 levels to 700
Will you be there tomorrow in Season 6?
