What happened? One day the man forgot to tell the lottery that he did not want to buy a ticket for the Detroit Lions. The cashier would have handed him exactly such a ticket then.
How the story ends, you can probably guess now: The 68-year-old used the supposed unlucky ticket and won the jackpot of $1.05 million. Converted, that amounts to about €922,000. Not a bad sum for a mistake.
“Since my win, I only think about how glad I am that I forgot to tell the cashier not to give me the game of the Detroit Lions!” said the player.
He would always try his luck when the jackpot was over $700,000. This time it paid off, even though it didn’t seem like it at first.
