Reason 2: The Continent of Pywel
Not only are the battles a great strength of Black Desert, but also the huge, beautifully designed game world – and here too, Crimson Desert seems worthy to step into the large footsteps of its quasi-predecessor.
What has been shown so far promises a detail-loving continent with varied regions, impressive visibility, and wonderfully lively cities. The world has a Western fantasy style that noticeably sets it apart from many other role-playing games from Asia. This is more “Game of Thrones” than “Tiger & Dragon”, more medieval than anime.
It is also clear that the open world is huge, larger than, for example, the map of Red Dead Redemption 2, which comes in at about 75 km². Traveling from one end of the game world to the other is said to take around 2 hours.
What’s great is that you are not only allowed to explore the world by walking and riding. There is a parkour system that allows you to climb almost anywhere. Or you can use hovering and gliding skills, fly on the back of a mount, or utilize the fast travel system. The big question, however, is whether exploring the game world is even worthwhile.
