The next patch of World of Warcraft is just around the corner. We will tell you what you definitely should take care of before then.
This week, the next major patch for World of Warcraft is finally coming. Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara is one of the largest content patches to date and brings two new zones, as well as plenty of new quests, collectible items, and new gameplay mechanics.
In order to enjoy the new content without any restrictions, you should prepare as well as you can. We list five things you should definitely complete before Patch 8.2, which is coming this Wednesday.
1. Get Heart of Azeroth to level 50
Even though many players find the Heart of Azeroth to be a thorn in their side, it plays a significant role in Battle for Azeroth, and that won’t change with Patch 8.2. There, you will unlock not only a new active ability but also up to two strong passive abilities as well as minor increases in stamina, which will allow your character to survive longer.
To have as much head start as possible, it’s worthwhile to upgrade the Heart of Azeroth to level 50 already. This is also the current maximum. Artifact power collected beyond that has no benefit.

2. Complete Pathfinder of Battle for Azeroth (Part 1)
One of the major features of Patch 8.2 is the ability to finally unlock flying in Kul Tiras and Zandalar. The cool thing: This applies not only to the “old” areas but also to the two new zones Nazjatar and Mechagon.
To ensure that the unlocking of flying goes quickly, you should already complete the first part of the achievement. This usually happens “automatically” while playing and requires only a little active effort. Complete all quests, uncover all areas, and do some world quests.
3. Bring professions to the current maximum
If you are pursuing a crafting profession and want to earn gold with it, you should quickly bring your professions to the current maximum. With Patch 8.2, there are new recipes for all professions. This includes not only new armors but also extremely powerful potions and flasks that may far exceed their predecessors.
To avoid having to craft annoying “old” things when making the new items, you should get this done now. This saves time so you can directly continue with the new recipes on Wednesday.
4. Stockpile war resources
Do you see a few world quests that currently reward particularly many war resources? Then quickly complete them! War resources remain somewhat relevant, as they guarantee an income of artifact power through the follower missions, even when you are not playing.
Since you’ll primarily be active in Nazjatar and Mechagon with Patch 8.2, the number of available world quests is limited. It is good if you have a solid buffer of war resources in advance to send your followers out every day.
5. Complete the war campaign
The war campaign is an ongoing narrative for the Horde and Alliance in Battle for Azeroth. The missions are sometimes a bit longer and can take a bit of time. Since the war campaign is continued in Patch 8.2 and is even a prerequisite for some other content, such as the legacy armor of the Taurens, you should have it completed as much as possible in advance.
