What else is happening in February 2021
At the end of February, two interesting games are launching in beta. One is a mobile MMORPG, the other is a shooter in the style of Destiny 2. Additionally, an old MMORPG is coming to Steam.
Warhammer Odyssey – Beta
What kind of game is it? Warhammer: Odyssey is a classic MMORPG that you play on your smartphone or tablet. There are various classes, quests, and game content that you can experience in the world of Warhammer.
You can explore well-known locations like the city of Marienburg or the Drakwald Forest. Unlike other mobile MMORPGs, there is no autoplay. It also makes a good graphical impression.
What is happening in February? On February 22, the beta for Warhammer: Odyssey starts. In the coming days, it will be explained in more detail when this test phase will start and how to register for it.
Old School RuneScape – Release on Steam
What kind of game is it? Old School RuneScape is sort of the remake of the classic version of RuneScape from 2001. Over the years, this MMORPG has undergone many graphical and content changes that not everyone appreciated.
The developers decided in 2013 to set up an “Old School” version. This is based on a build of the game from 2007 and retains the same old graphics that made RuneScape so popular back then.
What is happening in February? On February 24, Old School RuneScape is coming to Steam. If you have not tried this MMORPG yet, you might take this as an incentive to check it out.
The game is following its brother behind, as the current RuneScape was already released on Valve’s platform back in October 2020.
Outriders – Beta
What kind of game is it? Outriders is an upcoming new RPG shooter with a SciFi setting from developer People Can Fly. The shown gameplay so far primarily resembles a mix between Diablo and Anthem. Players can slice through monsters alone or in co-op with friends and gather loot.
The special aspect of Outriders is that it is not intended to be a live service. It is meant to release as a full game offering a campaign with 40 hours of gameplay and additional endgame content.
What is happening in February? Starting February 25, 2021, you will be able to play a free demo of Outriders:
- You should be able to experience the first hours of the shooter – both in single-player and co-op
- You can try all 4 classes
- You can keep your progress if you later purchase Outriders
Thus, the game responds to its delayed release, which was originally planned for February. It is now scheduled for April 1, 2021.
