Since the success of 7 vs. Wild, the outdoor scene on YouTube has been booming. A new format from a former candidate is now sending unprepared contestants to the Bundeswehr.
What kind of format is this? The format “Bulletproof – The Challenge” from 7 vs. Wild former contestant and outdoor professional Ottogerd “Bulletproof” Karasch sends unprepared people to a training course at the Bundeswehr.
In the series, it becomes clear that the candidates were not entirely aware of what they were getting into. Accordingly, the fitness levels of the individual candidates vary significantly.
During the 48-hour training course at the Bundeswehr, the 15 candidates are divided into 5 teams of 3 and must complete various challenges together as a team. Depending on the criteria of the tasks, points are awarded, and in the end, there will be a winning team.

The candidates could not be more different
Who is participating? Similar to 7 vs. Wild, the participant field is a colorful mix. The five teams consist of the following candidates:
- Team Streamer
- Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler
- Niclos “How To Be Human” Stemmler
- Ronny Berger
- Team MMA Spirit – consisting of MMA fighters
- Max Coga
- Katharina Dalisda
- Patrick Vespazian
- Team Schlappen – consisting of the freerunning group “Schlappen”
- Jan “Schlappen” Lange
- Etienne “Schlappen”
- Dwayne “Schlappen”
- Team Ninjafit – consisting of participants from Ninja Warrior competitions
- Arleen Schüßler
- Benedikt Sigmund
- Keno Ruest
- Team YouTube
- David “Dave” Henrichs
- Max Pane
- Aaron Donker – not a YouTuber, but a former NFL player
Not only the teams but also the individual candidates have their own strengths and weaknesses that they bring to the exercise.
How does the series proceed? Currently, after the first episode, all teams have completed the first challenge. Initially, the teams were woken up early in the morning, had to get ready quickly, and then pack their bags with all the essentials for the next two days in a hurry. Then it was off to the first challenge.
In the first challenge, the teams had to complete an obstacle course, with points awarded based on their placement measured against the time taken. After the exercise, it was almost immediately on to the next challenge – of course, the route there needed to be walked on foot with all the luggage. The 48-hour exercise is a so-called continuous exercise, where the candidates receive hardly any breaks.
Episode two has already appeared on YouTube; to avoid spoilers, we will only refer to episode one. The latest episode can already be watched in advance on Joyn.
Does the series compete with 7 vs. Wild? Yes and no. The series operates quite differently from 7 vs. Wild, but there are also parallels. Once again, a mixed participant field is placed in an extreme situation to see how people perform.
The series also brings back familiar faces from different areas, similar to 7 vs. Wild. Former contestants like Jan Schlappen and Trymacs are also included.
However, the structure of the series is so different that both series can probably coexist without issues, especially since they also air at different times. Otto Bulletproof, the organizer of the show, had previously experienced tension with 7 vs. Wild founder Fritz Meinecke over a YouTube format.
