- With Throne and Liberty, a new MMORPG for PC and console is coming in 2022, featuring huge boss fights and action-packed combat.
- The former head of Aion is creating a new MMORPG called EGON: Inferna Bellum, which is set to come to us in 2022. It uses the isometric perspective like Lost Ark.
- Tower of Fantasy resembles Genshin Impact as an MMORPG. The first beta is set to start in April, with the release also planned for 2022.
- ArcheWorld is coming in 2022, but it will rely on cryptocurrency.

What happened with the major MMORPGs:
- In WoW, everything this week revolved around the World First in the new raid. One boss defeated the best players in the world 1,800 times. Blizzard even responded to the ongoing race and nerfed 6 out of 11 bosses.
- In Lost Ark, players complained about the rapid introduction of new content. Smilegate and Amazon apologized for this and promised generally more materials and a faster release of new classes. Additionally, there was a weekly patch with some compensations for players.
- In ESO, the new DLC Ascending Tide was released this week.
What happened with the smaller MMORPGs:
- New World is bringing a new patch in March that we have already played. Additionally, the big roadmap for 2022 has been released. It includes new dungeons, new weapons, the first area, and PvP arenas.
- In EVE Online, players protested against an item they considered pay-to-win. However, there was the curious situation that the developers themselves promoted this strike in their stream.
- Elyon is expected to receive a new update soon, which will include a 30-player raid (via Elyon).
- The Lord of the Rings Online will soon lift some restrictions for free-to-play players (via MMORPG.org.pl).
What happened with the MMORPGs in development:
- Scars of Honor is a new MMORPG reminiscent of WoW that promises “true free-to-play”.
- With Project E, NCSoft is planning another MMORPG that is supposed to be connected to Throne and Liberty.
- The developer studio behind Corepunk explained in a statement the problems they are facing due to the current Ukraine crisis.
- Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen shared some details about its current development in a new producer letter (via MassivelyOP).
