Fallout 76 currently offers several promotions and events that make it worthwhile for new players and returning players to check out the survival MMO. Among other things, Fallout is enticing players with a free week, a free trial of Fallout 1st, and several bonuses.
What’s happening in Fallout 76: The Treasure Hunter event in Fallout 76, where you could easily pick up the strongest items in the game, has ended. Nevertheless, it is worth taking a look right now.
During the week of October 20-26, Fallout 76 offers several reasons to take a look at the game. Whether you have had no contact at all or want to return. MeinMMO gives you three reasons and explains why it’s a good time to take a look.
1. Fallout 76 is briefly Free2Play – With Fallout 1st
Since October 20, Fallout 76 has been free as part of “Bombs Drop Days”. You can play for free for a week. If you do not own Fallout 76 yet, now is the chance to check out the game for a whole week.
Additionally, anyone who logs in between October 20 and 26 can grab a free preview of Fallout 1st, which will also remain until the end of the Free2Play week.
What is Fallout 1st? The premium subscription of Fallout grants you certain advantages in the game for a recurring fee, such as:
- a survival tent that acts as a “mini-camp” with the ability to store items and fast travel
- the scrap box, which allows you to store scrap in addition to the regular stash with unlimited capacity
- private worlds just for you and your friends
- monthly: atoms that you can spend as well as exclusive free items in the shop
- exclusive cosmetics
What do I get out of it? With the free preview, you only have access to the tent, the box, and the free offers in the shop, but even that is already an advantage. With the tent, you can set up a resting station for you and your friends anywhere in the world or set a fast travel point.
The scrap box helps you keep your inventory clean. Currently, players are complaining that certain rewards clutter their inventory. With the scrap box, you’ll get rid of a lot of weight.
After the trial period, you can keep the box. All scrap will remain stored in it and can be used. You just cannot store any new scrap.
2. The “Bombs Drop Day” is celebrated with strong bonuses
What is the Bombs Drop Day? The day the bombs fell is according to Fallout lore October 23, 2077. This was the day everything began that you can experience in Fallout, from the new governments to the super mutants and the legendary Brotherhood of Steel.
What bonuses are there? In Fallout 76, this day is celebrated with special bonuses. This year, you will receive:
- double experience points in all game modes
- double S.C.O.R.E. for daily challenges to progress faster in the battle pass
- 25% discount on offers from the legendary vendor
Especially new players benefit from the additional experience, as this allows you to reach level 20 faster. You need this level to access the new content, such as the huge Wastelanders update that has completely revamped Fallout.
Veterans will be pleased to unlock their rewards in the battle pass faster or spend their legendary certificates with Murmrgh. The additional experience will also help you, as you will reach the new legendary perks faster and can upgrade them sooner.
3. “One Wasteland” makes Fallout 76 even better
What is One Wasteland? At the end of September, the latest update One Wasteland was released, which has further improved Fallout 76. The update changed some of the previously known mechanics and introduced features such as:
- daily operations
- the aforementioned legendary skills
- dynamically adjusting enemy levels
The last point is particularly interesting for new players. Enemies now adjust to your level, so you generally deal roughly the same damage to creatures as veterans – except of course for players with top builds and the strongest perks and weapons.
Why does it make Fallout 76 better? With dynamic levels, you can play as a newcomer with friends who have been wandering around Appalachia for months.
Conversely, you can take beginners by the hand as a veteran without them feeling like they’re just being carried through. At the same time, the rewards adjust to your level, for example during events. As a result, you can obtain improvements throughout the game.
Daily operations are another way to earn powerful items and face new challenges. Especially in groups, you can showcase your skills and teamwork as you fight enemies with special abilities and try to complete tasks within a certain time frame.
As with Wastelanders, you need level 20 for most content from One Wasteland as well. With the double experience, you should reach it quite quickly.

What does the future hold? Bethesda has already revealed in a roadmap what Fallout 76 will receive at the end of 2020 and early 2021. Among the features are the new C.A.M.P. shelters, basically your own vaults, which have been quite popular in the community so far.
After One Wasteland and the Bombs Drop event, the new update “Steel Dawn” is coming to Fallout 76, although there is no specific date for it yet. Players have already suggested how the update can be improved.
What is Steel Dawn? In Steel Dawn, the Brotherhood of Steel finally comes to Appalachia, after previously being on an expedition from their main base in California for several months.
After the chapter in Appalachia was wiped out, the Brotherhood wants to re-establish a presence in West Virginia. And you can help with new quests, weapons, and armor.
