Fortnite: Battle Royale has gone through many changes since its launch. Some may be negative, but these 3 important changes are something MeinMMO author Eilyn Rapp will never want to miss, as they have greatly improved the game.
This is where Fortnite stands now: The game has now reached Season 4 of Chapter 2. That makes it a total of 14 seasons that players have experienced, each with its own theme and a corresponding live event.
Right now, in Season 4 players are battling as superheroes from the Marvel universe.
These changes have improved Fortnite for me
With a new season, there are also changes in the game to keep things interesting. Some innovations disappear again, while others remain in the game. Here are 3 important changes that have improved Fortnite for me.

1. Completing challenges with friends
What does this mean? This feature, introduced in Season 8, allowed you to complete weekly or daily challenges together instead of alone. If you activated this for a task, your friends’ progress was counted as well. So if you had to make 10 kills, all kills from the team were counted towards the completion.
In Season 4 – Chapter 2, there is now 1 weekly challenge that you are supposed to complete with friends. You can no longer freely choose which one. However, for me, it is still better than having no party assist in the game at all.
2. Chest contents finally not destructible
What does this mean? Those who remember the earlier days of Fortnite know how frustrating it was when you accidentally destroyed a chest. This could happen if you hit one with explosive weapons or, even worse, if you accidentally destroyed the ground on which the chest was located.
Why was this so bad? Destroying chests was particularly tedious because then all the nice loot inside simply vanished. You missed the chance for extra weapons, healing items, and ammunition every time.
How is it now? This problem has been solved by not losing the loot even if the chest is destroyed. I can now destroy all surfaces with my pickaxe without worrying about accidentally breaking a chest’s ground.
3. Presets for skin combinations
What does this mean? Something that players have long wished for in Fortnite were presets for skin combinations. These should allow players to save all their favorite outfits for easier access.
In Season 2 Chapter 2, it finally happened and the locker feature was introduced in Fortnite.
Why is this so important? In Fortnite, there is a huge selection of skins, back bling, pickaxes, weapon skins, and emotes. Finding the perfect combination can take a long time. But once you have finally found the perfect combo, you can now save it and easily return to it. I don’t want to miss out on this feature anymore.
Fortnite has gone through so many changes that sometimes it almost seems like it is no longer “the real Fortnite”. While that is sad, I will always appreciate these 3 changes. Even if they may not be very big, they significantly improve the game for me. What are your favorite changes? Which ones could you not imagine living without?
