In 2022, MrBeast hosted a major event for League of Legends: At that time, YouTuber Ludwig Ahgren (29) proved to be the loser of the evening. The successful content creator was publicly humiliated and had to live with the shame of having completely failed for 2 years. But now he achieves the impossible and even receives praise from Tyler1. But for that, he had to really put in the effort.
What was the humiliation back then? The YouTuber MrBeast set a nasty trap for Ludwig – in retrospect – when he invited him to a spectacular event in Las Vegas, where big Twitch streamers like Ninja and Mizkif, as well as LoL legends like Doublelift and Tyler1 played 3 matches of LoL against each other.
Although Ludwig is a good gamer, he had no idea about LoL. He had last played the MOBA many years ago and had not prepared for the event. They assured him that it would be fine when he was placed on MrBeast’s opposing team.
But Ludwig completely failed and lost the match, even though he played alongside Doublelift and Tyler1, two outstanding experts. Tyler1 then publicly humiliated him on stage, calling him a “total weak link.” Ludwig simply didn’t listen to his instructions; he was a total loser. Tyler1 had played with AI bots that were 10 times better than Ludwig.
Ludwig is the theater club
type, Tyler1 is the sports-and-murder performance course:
Ludwig finally wants to make up for the disgrace, but Tyler1 despises him
Here’s how it went on: For 2 years, there was a certain dynamic between the two seemingly different men:
- Ludwig downplayed the defeat and sought closeness to Tyler1, whom he considered his “good colleague and friend” – it wasn’t such a big deal. He just had a bad night playing LoL as Fiddlesticks – that could happen to anyone.
- Tyler1, on the other hand, would spit every time he heard the name Ludwig, descending into wild insults. Ludwig had played so terribly that Tyler’s life had gone downhill since then. He was the biggest loser ever.
At TwitchCon, Ludwig even approached Tyler1 and cleverly got a photo with him before Tyler recognized him and folded him up.
Ludwig achieves the impossible and earns Tyler1’s respect
This was the bet: Tyler1 offered Ludwig, who kept annoying him, a chance: If Ludwig could manage to reach the mid-tier rank Platinum in the current season of LoL, he would say something nice about him.
This is how Ludwig could rehabilitate himself: Ludwig actually gritted his teeth, focused on one champion (Amumu), persevered, and just managed to reach Platinum on the last day of the season in LoL. The new season starts on January 8, 2025.
This achievement by Ludwig did garner some respect from Tyler1. Although Tyler1 makes a huge show of the pain he has to go through to say this, he eventually congratulates Ludwig on his success. It’s particularly impressive to make this rise so late in a season when only losers play, as the mental pressure is at its highest.
Tyler1 admitted that Ludwig was much better than he had thought.
Ludwig did what many wimpy streamers starting with LoL can never achieve, Tyler1 explains: Ludwig concentrated on one champion and pushed through. Tyler1 repeatedly watched Ludwig’s play with hate, yet developed some respect for Ludwig – at least a little.
Ludwig does have some skills, in contrast to Forsen – he is just terrible.
How does Ludwig react? For him, it’s like Christmas and Easter coming together. He roars
500 hours – It was worth every minute.
According to his statistics, Ludwig has won 287 games and lost 248 games. He calculates that he needed about 500 hours for that. In a reaction, Ludwig finds it hilarious how Tyler1 puts on a show to painfully give him a compliment. He seems like a baby refusing his vegetables, Ludwig says.
These are two truly gifted entertainers meeting here.
Ludwig has focused on rising in LoL, but he actually has many other tasks, as he recently ran an event company, which he had to close before Christmas.: The former golden boy of Twitch has to close his company before Christmas and lay off staff.
