Many gamers buy a gaming mouse because they often offer many additional features that you don’t get with an office mouse.
In my time as an editor for MeinMMO and privately, I have now bought over 20 gaming mice. Two of them are currently available at a great price thanks to Prime Day on Amazon. And these two mice are among my absolute recommendations.
What they are, why I can recommend them, and why I would buy them again, I will explain to you in this article.
My first tip: Roccat Kone Aimo Remastered
Why do I like this mouse so much? When it comes to gaming mice, my girlfriend and I agree on the Aimo Remastered: we both find the ergonomics really well done, both with my larger hands and my girlfriend’s smaller hands. This perfection was not quite reached by Roccat with the Kone XP, which I was able to test, although it is also really good.
In addition to the ergonomics, I also like the surface of the mouse, which prevents it from getting dirty. The lighting and design also make the Kone Aimo Remastered one of my favorites. Only the design of the SteelSeries Rival 5, which I was able to test, tends to please me a little better.
What don’t I like so much? The biggest weakness of the mouse is the scroll wheel. Many people who have already bought this mouse will also confirm this: If you turn in one direction, it may be that the scroll wheel doesn’t scroll smoothly in one direction or clicks correctly anymore.
These errors can be incredibly annoying in the long run, but I wouldn’t want to miss the mouse as it just feels good in the hand. I have been using the mouse for about 3 years now and otherwise it is absolutely fine. One thing that also bothers me is that the mouse cable is not detachable.
For whom is the mouse recommended? If you are looking for a gaming mouse for many different genres and enjoy playing shooters, strategy games, or casual games like I do, then I can highly recommend this mouse.
The Kone Aimo Remastered is not exactly light with a weight of 130 grams. If you play with low DPI values and move your mouse around a lot, then the mouse could be too heavy for you in the long run. In that case, I would rather recommend the SteelSeries Prime Mini, which weighs only 60 grams and forgoes the honeycomb pattern.
For 38.42 Euro, you will get a strong mouse if you don’t want to commit to a specific genre and if the high weight of the mouse doesn’t bother you:

My second tip: Logitech G502 Hero Lightspeed
Why do I like this mouse so much? The G502 Hero Lightspeed offers pleasant ergonomics and feels secure thanks to the soft contour in the thumb area. The lighting is subtle, which is very nice if you usually have RGB mice on your desk.
Unique is also the scroll wheel, as it can run endlessly without resistance. I like to use that for long texts. Razer has copied that with the Basilisk V3, but the original from Logitech still appeals to me the most.
I have been using the G502 Hero for about 2 years now and have had no problems during this time. The scroll wheel works perfectly, and the buttons do as well. The mouse feet underneath the mouse do seem a bit worn out now. Therefore, I positively assess its durability.
With the G502 Hero, you can also adjust the weight with additional weights. Personally, I have never used that feature since I already find the mouse heavy enough at its weight of 114 grams. And the weight is a point where you secretly outpace the competition from SteelSeries:
What don’t I like so much? Logitech uses a micro-USB port as a charging port. That is simply not modern anymore, as almost all manufacturers have now switched to USB-C. The idea of charging the G502 with Powerplay technology sounds great at first. But the mouse pad costs just as much as the mouse. So, I stick with the standard pad and charge the mouse every three days. Small hands also cannot reach all the buttons: My girlfriend complains, for example, that she can’t reach the shooter button in the thumb area anymore.
For whom is the mouse recommended? The Logitech G502 Hero, like the Roccat mouse, is an all-rounder. Thanks to its many buttons, you can play pretty much any game with it, from shooters to MMOs. That’s also the reason why I still like to use it to this day.
As with the Kone, the high weight is also a factor to consider for the Logitech G502 Hero. At 114 grams, the Lightspeed variant is also 7 grams lighter than the regular G502. For 69.99 Euro, you get a really good all-round gaming mouse without a cable.
