Last week was marked by the major New World update, a change in Lost Ark that caused some stir, and new info about MMOs in development. You can find all the important MMORPG news from last week in our weekly recap.
The highlights of the week:
- The studio Dark Passenger consists of former developers of Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. They have freshly founded and want to build an MMO that sounds like Destiny 2 with ninjas.
- Black Desert Online starts its summer event and turns you into cute otters fighting over sandcastles. The event is well received by the players.
- In Guild Wars 2, you can now get the popular Raptor not just in the endgame, but already at level 10.
The controversy of the week: The failed MMORPG Legends of Aria is trying for a fresh start as a Pay2Earn title. It now sells random Pay2Win characters for €69 – and you don’t know what you’re getting.
The discussion of the week: Saintone, one of the biggest Twitch streamers for Lost Ark, confirmed in his stream that you can practically have no life if you really love the MMORPG. This sparked a discussion in the community.
The summer event in Black Desert is going to be really sweet:

- Elder Scrolls Online responds to the criticism of the combat system and changes it for the 5th time in just one year.
