The MMORPG Throne and Liberty has been out for just over a month now, and there are various players who have spent hundreds of hours in Solisium. Along the way, some relationships have suffered, as shown by a player’s recent post.
What kind of post is this? On Reddit, the player TouchAsleep posted a screenshot, commenting with the words “My wife thinks I play too much Throne and Liberty, so she sent me this.”
The image shows the playtime of the user TouchAsleep in Throne and Liberty over the past two weeks: 192.5 hours. Directly below is an additional note from his partner: During this time, he spent only four hours with her. The MMORPG has clearly won the battle for the man’s attention – at least in this phase.

How does the community react? Under the post, more than 170 comments have already gathered. There are also more than 450 upvotes.
- Xenocide_X writes on Reddit: “So you’re telling me you average 13.75 hours a day… Your girlfriend is right, brother. You play too much.”
- reeelax comments on Reddit: “I just can’t imagine that. I have a few hours a day to play, with work, wife, and pets. Damn, I don’t even have kids, but 13 hours a day sounds insane to me. In my opinion, that’s the fastest way to lose enjoyment in a game.”
- Krookz_ has some advice (via Reddit): “Maybe you should find a balance before you lose one or both. The girl, because you’re ignoring her, and the game, because you’re overdoing it and burning out/getting bored. Balance is key!”
By the way, there are currently several posts on Reddit discussing the enormous playtime of some players. Lilith999777 explains in her post on Reddit that her partner is also addicted to Throne and Liberty, with nearly 600 hours of playtime in five weeks.
In other posts, players with high playtime explain that they have lost enjoyment now. BazimQQ writes in his post on Reddit: “I think I have to quit. 200 hours in, almost 3,500 Gearscore, and I’m pretty burned out. The game is starting to feel more like a job than fun, and everything is just so boring because you do it over and over and over again.”
Under such posts, many commenters explain that it’s no wonder someone would get burned out after so many hours of play in a relatively short period.
Furthermore, with such an investment of time, parts of the community suggest that one shouldn’t blame Throne and Liberty for there being hardly anything to do. Our MeinMMO editor Karsten Scholz plays Throne and Liberty rather casually (81 hours of playtime so far) and thus still enjoys Solisium: Throne and Liberty does one thing much better than Lost Ark, which still keeps me on the servers for a long time
