Ghost of Tsushima was a feast for fans of films like 13 Assassins, Zatoichi, Last Samurai, or The Seven Samurai. Compliments even came from Japan regarding how well the American studio Sucker Punch implemented the setting.
The open-world adventure also shone with incredibly fun combat and the immersive way in which players were guided through the game world – namely through wind direction or animals like birds and foxes.
Like Part 1, Ghost of Yotei will initially be exclusive to PlayStation 5. You will experience a story that takes place 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. This time, you will take on the role of the lonely mercenary Atsu, who seeks revenge on a gang of six outlaws for the death of her family.
Yotei is said to bring the strengths of the first part but also have one or two novelties in its arsenal. For example, you can now set up a camp to rest or interact with travelers and allies.
In exploring the world, a hook will now also help you climb to elevated positions like cliffs. Additionally, you will possess binoculars to mark interesting locations. Combat will be expanded, such as through summoning a wolf companion.
