Cronos: The New Dawn was among our highlights of the Opening Night Live at gamescom 2025 for several reasons:

The Polish developers bring retro-futuristic science fiction into their Eastern European homeland. A devastating event has turned the world into a devastated wasteland. You are on the hunt for rifts in time and repeatedly facing dangerous, nightmarish horrors.
Mean: Other beings can consume the corpses of defeated foes, thus becoming even faster, tougher, and deadlier. As typical for survival horror, you will also have only a limited supply of resources like ammunition or healing in the fight for survival.
