In Destiny 2 it is currently raining coveted loot. The current Nightfall Strike, Nightfall: The Ordeal, is spitting out double loot. Players are already in a loot frenzy.
This is the “bug”: The current Nightfall Strike gives double loot. Players do not need to cheat, no absurd glitch, to get the double loot: Just finishing the Nightfall Strike, Nightfall: The Ordeal, is enough to grab the loot.
The Nightfall Strike “The Hollow Guardian” has been active since March 31st. The strike came with Forsaken to Destiny 2 and strongly resembles the original “Prison of Elders” known to Destiny veterans from the “House of Wolves” expansion (2015).
This new hot spot for loot was highlighted by YouTuber Mtashed in a video. He urges players to take advantage of it “as quickly as possible before it disappears again.”
According to Mtashed, this is now a great opportunity to get in Destiny 2:
- lots of exotic items (here are the new armor exotics of Season 10)
- to snag Ascendant Shards
- to upgrade all items to Masterworks
The YouTuber then shows his haul from 3 hours. Including some exotics that he proudly presents. Mtashed says he farmed 15 exotics in 3 hours, all at double speed.
At the moment, it is said that you can farm Nightfalls twice as efficiently as usual. That is “crazy.”
This is how it is being reacted to: Generally, players in Destiny 2 are a bit cynical at the moment.
- One player says he has farmed “30 Beaver Errors” in the last 3 hours. That’s harsh.
- Another expects that Bungie will now disable Destiny 2 to fix the glitch. A hint that Bungie often disables exotics that cause trouble.
- A third adds: This should be the speed that is normal. Because farming exotics and grinding for materials is tedious.
- Some even suspect that Bungie is doing this “intentionally” to give players a reason to play Destiny 2 now.
At the moment, glitches and problems are piling up in Destiny 2. Due to the corona virus, Bungie has moved its work to home office. In recent weeks, there have been some bugs and issues.
Thus, the Trials of Osiris do not always give loot – a disadvantage for players. However, the current bug is turning out to be advantageous.
It is clear that such a farm spot greatly increases the yield and reduces the time players need to achieve their goals in Destiny 2. It is quite possible that this loot frenzy will end on Tuesday with the new weekly reset. Perhaps Bungie may intervene even earlier.
