Darth Sidious is known as the Emperor from the Star Wars movies. Initially, as Chancellor Palpatine, he was the head of the Republic before he dropped his facade and revealed himself as a Sith.
This shows how skilled Sidious is at winning over and manipulating others. Even his apprentice Darth Vader fell for this trick. He helped his Master to destroy the Jedi Order and to hunt the few survivors.
Darth Sidious led the powerful Empire and possessed not only political skills but also great fighting talent: he unleashed a true inferno with his Force lightning alone, and he was also a formidable opponent with a lightsaber. His ability to learn from his predecessors and cheat death is made clear with his return in the sequel trilogy.
