The game is not intended to be a classic hero story, but to tell a story of environmental transformation. This, in turn, is supposed to tease out the most important survival traits from the characters: ingenuity, resilience, adaptability, and collectivism.
Specifically, the trailer focuses on four characters that you should be able to control in the game. Various types of zombies can also be seen: normal, slowly staggering standard zombies, threateningly large ones with glowing insides, or monstrous zombies that look like multiple fused undead.
In fact, the video and the idea behind it remind of the TV series The Walking Dead: The world is overrun by zombies, and the survivors must work together to stay alive.
As the game progresses, the group of survivors is also supposed to grow larger. In fact, State of Decay 3 is said to feature a Shared Open World
