In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War there is new information about the Zombie mode. The developers have introduced the Perks and explained what is known about weapon rarities.
What’s new about the Zombies in Cold War? The Zombie mode has always been a special feature in many Call of Duty games. Especially Treyarch’s games place great emphasis on the co-op mode with the undead, as they invented this mode.

New information about the Perks in “Zombies”
Perks are special traits that you can use to gain bonuses in combat. At the start of Zombies, there are the following six Perks:
- Jugger-Nog: Increases health by 50.
- Quick Revive: Reduces healing speed and revival time by 50 percent
- Speed Cola: Reloading speed is 15% faster
- Stamina-Up: You can run and sprint faster.
- Deadshot Daiquiri: Your scope no longer sways and you can aim at weak spots more easily
- Elemental Pop: Every shot has a small chance to trigger a special effect.
The last perk is new in Cold War and is likely to be of interest to many players, as the various ammunition effects make the wild zombie battles more diverse.
This is how Perk upgrades work: By collecting Aetherium crystals, you can permanently upgrade your Perks. There are three levels at which the Perk becomes increasingly powerful.
The new information about weapon rarity
Weapons in Zombies come in five rarity tiers:
- Common
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Epic
- Legendary
Each rarity level significantly increases damage and brings more weapon customizations. For example, legendary weapons can come with a damage boost of 300 percent along with eight weapon attachments.
In addition, you will now receive an additional attachment for a weapon when you purchase it. It’s also worth returning to the Mystery Box later, even if you already have a good weapon.
Because there is a chance that you will receive a better version of the weapon. Additionally, the Mystery Box can now contain scorestreaks.
The scorestreaks in Zombies
In Cold War Zombies, you can earn the following scorestreaks from Cold War. Previously, this was only possible in some maps of past Zombie modes.
- Combat Bow: A bow with incendiary rounds
- Sentry Turret: An automated turret
- War Machine: A heavy grenade launcher
- Chopper Gunner: You briefly take control of the gunner in a helicopter
- Self-Revive: You can revive yourself
To prevent the zombies from eating you while you control the gunner from the scorestreak, your character will temporarily be invulnerable.
Loadouts, field upgrades and exfil – More features from “Zombies”
In addition to the above features, there are even more new things in the Zombie mode:
- You can pre-assemble loadouts for weapons and equipment. The rarity corresponds to the level of common weapons.
- There are field upgrades that you charge with kills. Once they are finished, you can, for example, use a healing aura or become invisible.
- After 10 waves of zombies, there is the option for “Exfil”, meaning the rescue from the zombie area. Then the round ends, and you receive special bonuses. These improve the longer you delay this escape. After the first attempt, there is another exfil date after every 5 rounds. To activate it, the team must mostly agree. If Exfil is activated, you must reach the extraction point while many zombies spawn to stop you.
- Zombies will adopt the ping system known from regular multiplayer. This way, you can communicate quickly and non-verbally with your teammates.
