The new LoL champion Yuumi has now been unlocked in League of Legends. But players are concerned. The win rate is extremely low. What is the reason?
What is new? For about a day, you can play the new champion in League of Legends. This is Yuumi. The little sorceress is already well-received by players due to her appearance.
Fans could hardly wait to try out the character in the game after the cat was introduced. But now, after the first few hours, it turns out: She is probably not as strong as she is cute.
How rarely do players win with Yuumi? A post on Reddit about Yuumi’s win rate is extremely popular. After over 13,000 matches that took place at least in platinum ranking, Yuumi’s win rate was only 29.71%.
As the user LookAtThisGraphs explains, this is the lowest win rate that any new champion or a champion after a rework has had on day 1. As proof, he posts a statistic from Lolalytics.com. Meanwhile, 14 hours after the Reddit post, Yuumi’s win rate is 30.91%.
The comparison with current win rates: Nami’s win rate is about 53%, Thresh’s about 51%, and Sona’s about 55%.
Why is Yuumi’s win rate so low? Players say
This is what the fans demand: On Reddit, calls for buffs and hotfixes are being made. There is hope that developers will adjust Yuumi’s stats so she heals more and deals more damage. Additionally, the champion should take more damage.
Reasons for the low win rate: For many players, it is clear that the low base stats and low AP scalings are the reason why Yuumi has such a low win rate.
The fact is that Yuumi represents a whole new kind of supporter with her abilities. She can make herself invulnerable by connecting with an allied champion. Then they cannot attack enemies. Apparently, this ability is being used too strongly, leaving the ADC out in the open.

This is what players say: Player Praius writes, “I mean, are we really surprised? Her entire kit is filled with low numbers. And her base stats are awful. It doesn’t help that her only hard CC is her ultimate.”
Player SynGaren writes: “I believe the only possible way to win with her is as a duo with Veigar. Otherwise, she is just worthless.
- Her Q has the lowest poke damage in the game
- Her W grants 3-40 AP (half for AD) and only if she has been fed and maxes W
- Her E is the weakest healing spell in the game
- Her R is extremely hard to hit, tied to an ally, and does no damage
[…] I really think support Evelynn would have a higher win rate.”
Are players just playing Yuumi wrong?
Another thread later became popular on Reddit. It is titled “People are playing Yuumi completely wrong”.
The thread creator, Awesome359, addresses in his post that players are simply handling the new champion incorrectly. Just connecting with an ally and then being half AFK would “never be effective”.
“In the bot lane, you need all the health points you can get. This includes shields, healing spells, and current health points. If Yuumi connects with a champion, the effective health points of the bot lane are reduced by about 400. And all spells and attacks can be directed unimpeded at the ADC,” writes Awesome359.
He says that you should stay “out” with Yuumi until you are almost dead. This way, you can block attacks from enemies that would otherwise reach the ADC. When you are almost dead, you connect with the ADC and become invulnerable.

In the comments on Reddit, you can now often read that the win rate will probably stabilize in the next few weeks. For now, they are testing builds and masteries as well as playstyles to get the most potential out of Yuumi.
It is possible that Riot will still buff Yuumi’s stats if the developers think they are too low. On the other hand, players may just be lacking the right playstyle to win.
Have you already tried her as a supporter?
